Must see PD0 vid! And new pic

Perfect Dark Zero may not be anywhere close to a Halo in the making, but any way you look at it, the game is shaping up to be a true killer app.

???

It's not a Halo in the making yet it's a killer app?

Oh, I am terribly sorry.

Yes, the game has absolutely despicable art. Also, the physics were overdone before, but now they are underdone. The enemies just slouch over everytime. :lol

Rare clearly has no idea of how to make a game. It's clear to me now that Rare are monitoring the multitude of "rollercoaster" threads on GAF looking for clues. You know, clues on how to develop a game.

No really, they ARE!

They didn't even realize that the physics were off until GAF called them on it, so they went back to the drawing board. You see, all of the incessant carping REALLY does help, so please know that somewhere within the impoverished studio's of Rare that someone is thanking you.

YES, you!

So please do continue with the pissing and moaning. :P

What really hits you immediately is how damn gorgeous the game looks.

greeted to an entire platoon of enemy troops, all of whom left exquisite corpses behind after they were shot.

the best part of the jungle stage is just how dense and lush these environments really feel.

any way you look at it, the game is shaping up to be a true killer app.

Joanna definitely has what it takes to carry the 360 launch next month.

Hmmm. I see what I did there.

seriously, there is no CG chick hotter than that model of joanna. Greatest of all time

This paragraph alone is a rollercoaster:

It serious makes me feel stupid at some of the differences next gen. That model compared to snakes looks 2 generations behind. Snakes mustache probably has more polygons than that gun shes holding. I really think Rare made noting on xbox 360 except port the game from xbox. it looks like a good game in motion no doubt about it but no where do I go NEXT GEN AM HERRRRR!!!.

I'm glad it's not like Halo.

Agreed. Halo is great and all, but Perfect Dark had an alien named Elvis. Rare seems to have kept the goofy, wacky spirit of the original intact.

are bloodstains not going to be in because of a conflict with the parallax mapping or what?

not sure but it's pretty dissapointing to say the least

looks really good! I love how the weapons look, the city looks great, i really love the look of the game...

Hehe, what the fuck. THE GAME ROCKS. End of story.

No rollercoaster to be found. I'm saying it isn't a Halo in the making because, frankly, the game isn't as good as Halo (A.I., combat, vehicles) -- but then again, what is?

It is quite possible to be a killer app without kicking Halo in the dick.

It should.

2 questions:

1. What difficulty were you playing on?
2. Were there blood stains?

Does the in-game model look like this? The enemy models don't look so hot in that vid.

Ugh...no way. The new model looks better. I don't like her new look much and I prefer the original Joanna, but at least they didn't go with that first one.
Hey trampy dark with her pouty lips and her disproportianately large chest may look like a ditzy slut, but at least she doesn't look like the flat chested ugly hag with a bad dye job they've got in the game now. :lol

If the AI and combat in a first person shooter aren't even as good as they were in a game from last generation then how is the game a killer app? I'm confused. Halo was a killer app because the AI, combat, vehicles, and controls were better than anything we had seen in the previous generation.

I want to know why the media is compelled to turn this into Halo. Has someone from Microsoft said something along those lines?
Well, they're both Microsoft published FPS's and that the Halo series had a game for the Xbox launch and now the PD series has a game for the X360 launch(or near it at least). Personally, I wouldn't really make that comparison though. PD has a distinctly different feel than Halo, at least to me.

exactly, i'm sick of this being "omg near halo goodness". Who gives a fuck it's it's own fucking game hate that everything must be like halo. Damn media.

god damn it.

this is already the most confusing game ever and all this preview does is continue that trend.

it's not as good as halo yet it's a killer app? wha?

PD0 doesn't have to be compared to halo. Hopefully its a great game in its own right. Just doing a PD sequel isn't good enough against today fps. Especially as the fps genre actually has many dedicated sub genres since the old days. Pd in its day did alot but didn't specialise anywhere.

Ai looks smart to me, that one guy spotted joanna pretty fast and started shooting.

Hey then again in goldeneye they weren't that smart but did become difficult.

I miss goldeneye.

Is that the Hulk Coaster at Universal Florida?
Yeah, that ride rocks. It totally caught me by suprise at the top of the hill. I'm sitting thinking, "how the hell are we gonna get through that corkscrOOOOOOOOOOH!". :lol Best start to a coaster I've been on. I did like Montu better, though. Rode it twice. Way better than this shitty game. :D Sorry...it was just too easy. PEACE.

Looks pretty cool, but the AI seems weak. Hopefully this will be fixed.

If we take the clearly noted pathways (with the flashing neon colors) seen in basically every PD0 demo video released so far to mean that they are only seen in the easiest of the available difficulty levels, then the AI should be a much more challenging (and hopefully satisfying) experience on the higher difficulty levels...which we probably haven't even seen footage from yet. Even if the AI is only a marginal improvement over PD, that's okay with me...since PD/GE was never quite about how smart your computer enemies were, but rather about how the missions were set up.

I know it's such a small thing, but I'm actually glad to see someone else wants to see blood splatters as much as I. The original Perfect Dark had excellent blood effects, so seeing no splatters in Zero does disappoint me, as petty and minor as it is.

the lack of blood splattering on walls was the first thing i noticed in the pdz videos. Im hoping its just cause of the quality of the videos that we cant see the splatter.

if the game isnt as good as halo in respect to AI, combat, vehicles (which is pretty much the basis of most fps) i dont see how it can be a killer app.. unless its the best game at launch.. or it'll just be marketed that way.
