Muxtape - Share Your Music Online!

Wow, no replies, really? I've been listening to random muxtapes all morning at work. This site is pretty sweet and the features seem to grow every day (of course it just went live yesterday...).

I think a search engine would make it more vulnerable for complaints from the RIAA and such.

But wow, nice find! Trying to compile my own Muxtape right now :)

www.divshare.com gives you 5 gigs. You can upload music or movies and people can stream or direct d/l. The only difference here is muxtape links all twelve of your uploads on one page, but I'm not sure how to link to one's account so people can see your entire collection on divshare: You have to post individual links, like so. Divshare is compatible with Wordpress though so you can use it to stream music on your blog.

np. I've been trying to ween people off zshare so that when they start threads about a new song from artist x others can just listen to the divshare stream instead of having to d/l the track first.

Perhaps, but I'd love to find mixes with certain artists, it definitely helps in the discovery of new music.

I wrote about Muxtape in my blog yesterday.
 
There will be a way to hunt down muxtapes of people with similar tastes eventually. This is from the site's development blog.

The ability to discover relevant new muxtapes will be the very next thing I do after a couple bug fixes. Also coming soon: M4A support, RSS feeds (last minute omission from the launch schedule), more customization, many many many other things.

This is a great website. I'm a big fan of making mixes for friends to expose them to music they may not otherwise hear. This will be a great way for me to share. Thanks a lot, man. :D

You really should check out the Dodos, they're amazing. They just had a new cd come out (Visiter) and it's my favorite of this year.

I'm definitely interested now; check out my mixtape when you have the time, there's a lot of punk rock stuff, being that I was trying to make a mixtape of stuff my good friends haven't really heard, but I'm gonna be updating it regularly with new shit; meaning: if you don't like the punk shit, know that its temporary, and I'm gonna be switching it out.

It just leads into even more balls to the wall rock. The album is Pink. Boris are just 100% badass.

If anyone's into breaks or general good dance music there's an absolute belter of a mix by Lee Coombs on www.nuskoolbreaks.co.uk

He recorded it for part of the Miami music conference this year, so all current and soon to be released tracks. You'll have to register, but it's worth it.

Additionally, the NSB radio is worth a listen every now and again.

Last addition: there's a great show worth listening to on www.totalkiss.com Do a search by DJs and go to Ali B. He does an hour's show every Monday night and is well worth listening to if you like your 'funk bombs' but you'll need to listen to it via internet explorer.
