My aunt got me a 100 dollar gift card to ...Kmart?

KMart is a crappy store, but not so crappy that you can't somehow spend $100. Buy some food, drink, and games. Buy some underwear and socks. Whatever.

You want to talk about a gift card dilemma? I got a $50 iTunes gift card for Christmas. What the fuck am I going to do with that? And if I wanted to re-gift, I can't think of anybody who could use it.

I've gotten some amazing deals for games at kmart. I know I got $20 coupons for each time I bought a major release (skyrim, uncharted 3, and L.A. Noire).

Don't iTunes cards work at Apple stores and apple.com? There are a lot of things you could put that towards.

I'd use it.

Just sayin'.

I'd get a 3DS XL from them, didn't they had the MK7 bundle for like $150? Just pay the difference. Or get some gift cards or PSN / XBLA / iTunes / eShop cards or whatever.

Another awesome idea I dunno I never been to Kmart dudes u heard it was run down and they didbt really carry much my mistakes :0p

I got a 50$ gift card to Sears today.

The Sears where I live is super depressing. I shall venture forth into appliance land however.

Yeah. The problem with me is that I don't use iTunes for music and while I have an iPhone, I'm not big into paid apps and games.

I'll find some use for the card though.

There's always audiobooks.

They're having a big sale right now too, IIRC.

EDIT: On second look, seems it's just e-books. Ah well.

You can probably just sell it.

I had a $100 gift card from my MacBook and sold it for $75 on here to a fellow gaffer

Kmart is the most depressing store, I swear. Used to blow my mind to walk in the store past the cereal aisle where all the cereal boxes were sporting promotions from movies and TV shows from 3-5 years prior. Nothing like seeing an Atlantis: The Lost Empire promo on a box of Rice Krispies in 2005.

And then you got the aisles that are only like five feet wide yet packed to the ceiling with crap, so much so that the aisle would be un-maneuverable if there was more than one person in the aisle(which actually wasn't that big of an issue really, considering there's only like ten people in the whole store at any given time).

Since when can you buy gift cards with gift cards. I thought a lot of stores don't allow that. Maybe I am confused.

OP you shouldn't be complaining. KMart is nothing.

This morning, for Christmas, I got a $90 Amazon.co.uk gift certificate...I live in the USA and the good majority of Amazon.co.uk products don't ship to the States.

Just an FYI, I've ran across some blu-rays that are region free and ship to the US

I did some research and Kmart is still open. They have retail stores and a website - even an iPhone app. It was actually pretty easy for me to find, but I am really really good with the Internet.

I went to a website called Google (www.google.com) and used that website to search the Internet for Kmart. I'm not really sure how it works, but boy does it! On the very first page of results I was able to find a link to Kmart's website.

I *think* you can use the giftcard on the website to purchase things from them which they will then ship to you. I know some places will let you purchase something online and then go pick it up at a retail store location, but I don't know if Kmart allows this. Probably a discussion for another thread?

I would buy video games from them.

Kmart isn't hugely different from Target or even Walmart. Smaller in scale, yes, but I'd be hard pressed to find anyone who didn't find something they needed at Kmart.

KMart actually has some pretty crazy gaming deals every now and then, despite not having the best selection. If you sign up for rewards stuff they give $30 coupons, B1G1 deals, etc. I got the Limited Edition of BF3 for $30 on launch day because of that.

Those days are over my friend.

The guy who made those deals and organized them and everything was "let go"

I don't understand the problem. She gave you a gift card for that store, surely there's one somewhere in your area. And if there is, there are plenty of games I'm sure you'd be happy to pick up there.

Target usually tends to be nicer and cleaner, less ghetto-y. Kmart just seems like it's stuck in the 70s and nobody's figured out how to bring it out.

Of course, Target being a nicer store has it's downsides, it's seemingly always busy, I'm lucky to get a checkout lane where I don't have to wait.

You had to wait? I'm so sorry.

K-Mart near me sees a lot less foot traffic in the electronics section, so sometimes they have older and rarer games.

They had Dragon Quest V (DS) before the reprint and a few other rare DS games. Obviously they were MSRP, but before the reprint for DQ5 you could probably have gotten $50-60 for it sealed.

My point is you shouldn't complain.

This is true. My local Kmart has a copy of Pokemon Platinum that I've been debating picking up for months now.

-They sometimes have some nice deals, and give extra coupons with it. (check the CheapAss Gamer-forums :p)
-I think you can use the Kmart giftcards on Sears; so if you prefer Sears there's that.
-Clearance sections across both stores sometimes have really nice stuff you can't find anywhere else (like some years ago, Metroid Prime Trilogy for $10)

XD I really find this funny, because that's exactly what I would've done if I were in the OP situation XD

And Cheesy Bread. My goodness that stuff is amazing.

There used to be a whole bunch of Little Caesar's around here, but for a while they pretty much disappeared in my area, and the nearest one was in a K-Mart like 45 minutes from where my wife (at the time my fiancée) lived, and I made her drive there a couple of times just so we could get some Cheesy Bread and Crazy Bread.

Fortunately, a few more opened up, and there's now one like 10 minutes away. Which is wonderful.
Sure, there are much better places for pizza (although hard to beat the price), but, it's worth it for the Cheesy Bread and Crazy Bread alone.

Oh, um, wait, this is on the gaming side of things... Umm... Yeah, they probably still have video games, or gift cards to other places or something...
Stealth little ceasers thread? I love that place. Best cheese bread ever.

iTunes Store sells music in un-DRMed AAC. You can play that music on pretty much anything these days.

There is a K-Mart like a mile from where I live. Sure it's not the prettiest or most modern of stores, and mostly old people shop there, but who cares? It has tons of things that you could want or need from electronics, videogames, clothes, food, household items etc. A video game from K-Mart plays the same as from anywhere else.

A mile from your house? You must live in a ghetto.
