My blood presure is way high

If you're having hypertension after withdrawing rapidly from benzos, it's a sign that you should taper your dosage instead of quitting cold turkey.

I would recommend switching to valium and withdrawing slowly over a period of a few weeks or even a few months.

I quit benzos cold turkey, but I certainly wouldn't have if I had developed hypertension.

How long were you on klonopin? It sounds like you definitely acquired a dependency. Edit: you said 2-3 months. That's more than enough time to become dependent.

Why do you people do that? GET OFF OF GAF AND GO TO THE FUCKING DOCTOR OR EMERGENCY ROOM IF YOU DON'T FEEL WELL.

Because if the poster is from the US, health care is extremely, extremely expensive. Especially if you go to a hospital emergency room. Some of those clinics like Med Stop can be reasonable.

How did you quit benzos? Do you know when the withdrawl symptoms stops? 1 week?

Doctor. Now.

As for stuff you can do to lower BP now? Probably rest, B vitamins, green vegetables, water, sleep.

As an aside, when was this meme ever funny? I see it all of the time, and the first time I saw it it wasn't funny.

My mom is having the same problem right now and the doctor said its a culmination of a whole bunch of stressful events recently in her life. I won't go into detail on those, but bottom line is that over the past week she has been averaging a blood pressure of 155-180 Diastolic over 90-95 Systolic. The doctor prescribed her valium

I was on Xanax for a few months. It got to the point where I needed a dose every 3 hours or I would have a full-blown panic attack. What I did was to begin by taking my first dose at a later time each day. I hit a wall around 3pm for some reason, but eventually I got through that. Then I switched to valium and only took it once a day. Over about a week, I reduced from 10mg valium to 2.5mg. After that, I just stopped taking it. I was off of it for nearly a month before I relapsed. Now I've been off it for 25 days.

I still have anxiety symptoms, but they're nowhere near as bad. The first two weeks were the hardest for me. I saw a definite improvement around my third week. Exercise, a good diet, comedies, and relaxing music will be your best friends. I've found that a bit of red wine is quite nice, but being hungover is a definite no-no, as it increases your heart rate and blood pressure and makes anxiety 10x worse.

The timeline for benzo withdrawal is different for everybody. It depends on a lot of things: how long you were on the medication, how bad your initial anxiety was and still is, the sources of stress in your life, your brain chemistry, etc. I've read stories of people who stopped feeling withdrawals after a week, as well as people who are still struggling after a year. Most of the latter stories, however, were from people who were on benzos for a seriously long time, like years.

In your case, I'd recommend cutting the dosage by about 25% and seeing how that makes you feel. If you have serious dependence, the general recommended taper time is a 10% reduction every two weeks. Of course, you can go much faster than this, and some people go much slower.

Edit: the reason you switch to valium for the taper is because it's longer-acting than other benzos. This allows for a more regular level of the medication in your system as you reduce your dosage.

I would also recommend that you browse or even register at this forum: http://www.benzobuddies.org/

I've been taking 5mg of Bystolic for 8 months now (130/90) and it's got me back in the normal range (110-120/80) and I feel great. No side effects.

You could take some blood pressure medication.

But you would probably stop that cold turkey too and complain about the side effects. Remember, when you don't follow doctors orders and you have problems it's because all doctors are drug pushers.

I wouldn't be worried about the klonopin withdrawl if you're only taking .25 and you've only been on it for three weeks. See a doctor about the blood pressure though.

I think some of you guys are overreacting and unnecessarily freaking the OP out. I'd wager the odds of someone dying from withdrawals of .25 mgs of Klonopin are incredibly low.

Yeah, his blood pressure spiked because of the panic attack. When I get nervous my blood pressure spikes to about 180/95.

It is 17/9. I'm feeling dizzy, hands shaking, vision kinda of blury. I stopped taking klonopin three days ago and I think this is withdrawl. Help me gaf pls. I'm so scared. I may be having a panic attack.

This... This is unreal to me. Why would anyone that believes they are having withdrawal symptoms of a prescribed medication ever believe that posting on an internet forum is the appropriate course of action?

As has been said many times already in this thread, go seek professional medical assistance.

Turns out that I don't have any problems with my blood presure. Is all anxiety, but...

Since day 21, I was taking the usual 0,25mg of clonazepam and hating every moment of it. Once again, on day 24 I started to take only 0,075mg until day 26, when I just didn't want this poison on my life anymore. So this is my third day without clonazepam, and I can say for sure that those were the worst three days of my life. It's not depression - that is gone together with the poison drug. What I get is extreme anxiety, sweating hands ALL day, pain on my back and neck, constant paranoia and fobia to go outside. That diminished at night when I take Seroquel and one drug that helped me other times, Akineton, for the sweating hands. It's hell on earth and I have to go back to college today, 29/10/2012. Am I gonna get some seizure or panic attack? Well, maybe. But you know what... I'm not gonna give up now. If I holded three days I can hold three weeks or three months. Is gonna be terrible? For sure. But I don't give a fuck, because I'm not taking this pill no more as longer as I live. One advice I can give - benzo's are killers. Is up to you if have the will to surpass this poison and have a clean life.
