My "Maybe-Modded" Xbox 360 (Or, why I can no longer get on Xbox Live)

Juice said:
Yeah, except now they're all claiming that my xbox isn't banned that it isn't modded and that it must be something wrong with me and my router. It isn't.
Man, that is some shit.

GOD DAMMIT.

Okay, this is why it's 12 days later and I'm still pulling my hair out. Every ****ing day:

1. Xbox boots cold after 12 hours of being off.
2. Xbox says "na na" to going online.
3. I get pissed, call tech support, and start a bump to this thread.
4. Somewhere in step 3, ?????
5. I'm on Live again.

And so here we are, after 90 minutes of phone time, and as I hang up, my 360 randomly decides to hop back onto the Internet.

So I'm on Live again.

Fck.

Ooooh, so that's what that switch on the wall here does. It's the "Shall Juice be let on XBL or not" switch.

Kidding. Keep us updated.

Got a call from a very nice lady whom I assume to be a non-technical supervisor via our ever-helpful Arne.

She offered a repair (insinuating I'd have to pay for it, being out of warranty), but since my console is otherwise perfect to me I'd really hate to trade it in for a busted up refurb and pay for it.

That's retarded. If the Xbox is reporting "maybe", someone obviously programmed that into the system as well as the conditions for it appearing, it didn't just become self-aware and pick it itself.

I'm afraid I can't let you connect to Xbox Live, Juice.

Great, there goes all hopes of not having my pm box filled with wine cooler technical issues. :p

I was having similar issues that you are having with my 360 this past week. I ran all the tests, and everything went well until I hit the 'xbox live' test, which it could not connect to. I use a linksys router, and the ms wireless usb hardware to connect to live. So I reset the network connection settings, and after going through the tests a few more times I connected successfully.

If you haven't given that a shot, try it.

Trade it for a PS3.

The ship for PS3 preorders this year has sailed, and you wouldn't get half the value of the PS3 for selling the 360.

Plus, trading/selling systems is dumb.

you said you tried your harddrive on your buddy's system, and it worked... and his didnt work on yours... why not bring your xbox to your buddy's place and connect there? see if it works that way, vs your own connection?

or try his on your connection.

So is Microsoft's inability to give a full explanation why his system will not connect to Live, as is their proposed remedy.

You're on a roll tonight, really. What happened?

i would think that's the case, but you're either ignoring the things that have been discussed to death already (see Rhindle's post in the other thread) or you're making comments on a situation that you don't know the full story on. *shrug* I'm NOT saying juice is at fault though.

I'm saying you're NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT at fault. hopefully I can still edit.

:(

Phew! And here I thought that you'd figured out that I soft-modded my console.

Your 360 is becoming self-aware.
Terminator-2---Judgement-Day-Poster-Card-C10229354.jpeg

"Shipsments go out as planned for the Holiday '06 season. Buyers are un-aware of what devices they are buying their child-ren. Xbox Live becomes self aware on December 31st....2006.

Microsoft...... fights back.....

Reminds me of when I used to play PSO on GameCube when it first got released.... Everything worked fine for months then suddenly I couldn't connect. I went a month of no connections trying to get Sega to help me out and nothing.... I can't remember how I worked out the problem, but, basically I had to phone my ISP and tell them my cubes mac address and they fixed it. :-/
