Yeah, ****tard Abrams is like totally innocent. He only likes to tease people and afterwards offers no conclusion. Look at all his work. Anybody still out there who believes Lost will have resolutions to only a fraction of its 'secrets'? Hell, no.

'Oh, I didn't know people would get emotional over this kind of teaser.' Yeah, **** you, Abrams asshole.

He doesn't even have anything to do with Lost anymore and he really isn't doing much with this film either. He is working on the Star Trek movie.

Please, everyone, staple this to your forehead in backwards ****ing writing.

Bitching about Lost at JJ Abrams is, again, like whining at Stan Lee about how asstacular Civil War was.

Connecting the two almost completely dissolves your argument about the show instantly, as it proves you know practically nothing about it, except that you hate it.

Um, if they have the whole Lost scenaria planned out as they like to claim it would heavily involve JJ Abrams, wouldn't it?

The only thing about Lost heavily involving JJ Abrams is a stack of DVDs with dailies piling up on his assistant's desk.

"Hey, JJ, you want to finally watch these?"
"Eh, I'll just watch the episodes when they hit my Tivo."

We should have a pool on how many frames of the 'monster' there will be in this movie.

Put me down for 18.

That thing could possibly be a mech/robot. I mean it obviously shoots missiles. That guy babbling about "It's alive" doesn't have to be the proof for a monster.

pfff, that's, like, more than a half second... Put me down for 8.

Ooooh that's a bad title.

hopefully it's the first in a series of tag-line focused posters. I hope.

edit: as in, different tag lines for each new poster that is made. each which describes something new about the monster, situation, or the world in general....

:lol

Hahaha!

I heard lion, but I honestly think alive would be better.

So this is just a big monster attacks movie but through a camcorder's viewpoint? SPretty interesting, but I was personally hoping for something Lovecraftian and horrific beyond a mindless big monster smashing stuff before being taken down... which is what I expect to happen to the monster since the movie's selling point will not be a monster causing widespread destruction across a large chunk of the globe (budget too low), but just a single night of destruction from a person at street-level with a camera.

That poster is awesome :x And if it can have the sense of horror that War of the Worlds gave me in the first alien reveal.... well it'll be a great movie. My heart never pounded so fast after the first noise those tripods made :)

Yea, a Cthulhu movie told through the camcorder of a regular civilian would be god damn awesome.

Wow. Great concept, great trailer, and I hope, with a great movie behind it. I am absolutely loving everything that I have seen thus far. The premise ("something" attacks NY, chaos ensure, noone is sure what the menace is, filmed from a civilizian POV), the aura of mistery, the creepy feeling of all and its War of the worlds vibe (in a good sense)... every friend of mine that I have seen that trailer has got incredibly hyped for the movie. It is going to be a hard waiting till 2008...

Probability of Cthulu... rising...
Yeah, except for the horrible title

Looking at the waves patterns, it kinda looks like the monster is swimming underwater from the statue to Manhattan. I dont know about you guys but when I think of huge underwater monster, I think of Chtulu

But doesn't Cthulu waking up mean the complete end of all humanity? And isn't this movie supposed to start with rescue workers finding the video camera and watching the footage? Or am I way off base here?

Maybe they stopped it by luring it to a metal roller coaster, then ionizing it so it would attract lighting (there's a lightning storm, didn't I tell you that?) thus it gets hit by lightning, killing Cthulu

My guess is that it will be heavily influenced by Cthtulu but will not be entierely faithful to the Lovecraft books.

And where does it says anything about rescue workers?

Exactly. It can't be a Cthulu movie because if it was, there'd be no ending. Just seeing who is worthy enough to be eaten first.

Don't know if this makes any difference but at the end of the trailer shown before Transformers here in the UK it just said 2008, and not a specific date.

If the title is Monstrous (Which would be unfortunate, since it's an awful title: I like the "Adjectives" theory posted earlier), I still say they ditch the worst entirely and just use that piece of artwork as the poster. Anyone who really cares about the movie will get a kick out of it, and its lack of a title will confuse some more people. And confusion works, it seems, at selling this film.

What if the monster was actually
. . . man

Oh wait. Who the hell would make a movie like that?

You'd have to be retarded to make a.. oh..
M night Shyamalan

nevermind.

JJ Abrams had a press conference at Comic Con today. He didn't reveal the title other than the movie was intended to be our Godzilla. A big American monster. He said that King Kong doesn't count.

It's just a giant monster that was invented for the film. Nothing more. Still looks amazing.

WTF

I just read on AICN how there are rumors on the net that say it's a Voltron remake.

How could anyone seriously think that this is a new version of Voltron?

It's a monster in modern day NY that's being filmed by some regular guys, can someone point out the connection to Voltron?

I dont think there is any, its just a stretch by people wishing something they really like will be a part of the movie. Another example was people actually thinking it was a movie involving Lavos.
