What genre is this anyways? Are games where you hack through giant hoards of bad guys a genre now?sp0rsk said:The genre isnt weak. DW is a far superior game.

Arcadey war slash em ups?
For some reason I find giving one guy a good pounding more satisfying that killing several hundred at once. (Just going from the video in N3). More does not always equal better. I hope this "genre" dies off soon.Lyte Edge said:It's a Beat-Em-Up, or BEU, just on a grander scale, I guess. Same old mindless mashing though.

Actually I hate DW because the setting doesn't do anything for me. I enjoy N3 much more than a typical DW game. Also, aren't the combos a bit more developed in N3? I don't know because I haven't played a recent DW, but they never seemed to be this deep back when I played one.sp0rsk said:people have always hated DW, i dont know why. its an awesome series.

AltogetherAndrews said:The producer should get most of the blame, as in the end the producer is the one who is in charge of development. If Phantagram wasn't up to snuff, then it should have been his job to recognize this and find a studio that could do it right. But he didn't, and as such he is responsible for the outcome.

Dynasty Warriors 5 Empires is 30fps, has average PS2 graphics, shitload of weapons, shitload of combos and moves, 48 characters, decent AI, well designed stages which are occasionally boring and never really cool and an AWESOME strategic/management mode where you conquer China to win.
While N3 might not be the worst DW-clone yet, it's pretty much in that tier.![]()
Red Blaster said:Ya sure 'bout that duckie? DW5 runs at a smooth 60 if I recall correctly, and I'd expect Empires to do the same.
Aaron said:For what it matters, DW4 and 5 are both 30FPS on PS2. No idea about the 360 version. I find the hate against DW a bit silly, especially when you're not required to buy every last installment. Just get DW5:Empires (played on Chaos) and be happy.
