Yes, there was an episode of Big Fat Quiz that featured Blobby creeping out Jack Whitehall if memory serves; hilarious as always!

Viewtiful Joe is in every way a hommage to Japanese superhero shows.

Mr Blobby was great, perfect 90s mascot for the era of slime machines and gross-out humour for kids.

Now this guy, Gareth Jones, was a scary mascot. Also the thing next to him.

Was Mr Blobby popular? I was a little too young to remember him in more detail than he just existed.

I can't for the life of me figure out why he would have been popular.

He was such an agressively physical performer that it was hard not to laugh. And his unpredictability (paired with the unpredictability of the kids on kids shows) made it a lot of fun to watch presenters try to deal with the chaos.
