Name the most ridiculously impossible Achievements / Trophies in games

I agree. I think that i have like 2 trophies in Trash Panic. One trophy for having a empty trash can at the end of the level and unfortunately i dont remember the last one. Or maybe i remember wrong? Maybe i only have 1 trophy. But i know for sure that i have the "have a empty trash can" (or something like that) trophy in Trash Panic at least :)

Unreal Tournament 3 - Untouchable - Reach 20 kills against a god-like bot in instant action without dying.

Maybe there is a cheap way of doing this that im not aware of.

BULLSHIT. That achievement/trophy is fucking easy. I did it in that one Darkstalker vehicle spawning ONLY ONE of them map with a mutator that replaced every weapon with the exception of the biorifle with the impact hammer.

Rush to the darkstalker, proceed to blow the shit out of the sole bot in the map 20 times.

DING! Achievement/trophy unlocked.

Those Mirror's Edge speed run trophies/achievements. I wanted the plat because I love ME so much but damn, not going to happen.

Speedruns aren't hard, get better at levels.

Time-Trials are the fucking bitch of that game because of having to do pixel-perfect leaping/turning/wall-run/jumps in a strict time limit (1-3 mins).

m stuck on mission 3 myself, it's so fucking hard because you have very little time, and the markers dont stay unless you beat the level, they put the markers in places that, even if you KNOW where they are it's hard to see them, that's how bullshit it is.

Colonies Edition saves all target marks if you replay the level in that one mission unlimited mode. Beat mission 3, go to Extreme, get target marks. Die. Target marks saved.

Trash Panic (PSN) has the hardest trophies I've seen yet. Killzone 2 was comparatively easy, and I acknowledge Wipeout HD for having some pretty hard ones - but really, nothing I've played so far compares to Trash Panic.

Hopefully that hasn't swayed any potential buyer away from the game, but after reading this thread I'm not so sure anymore...

Trash Panic was designed for Japanese gamers and when originally developed wasn't put in mind that it was going to be ported. As such, the trophies remained the same as they were intended for extreme Japanese robotic gamers. Same for Qruton/Numblast, I managed to get a few but I am betting some are near impossible.

Kind of sad the easiest one is to play for 24 whole hours (it's a puzzle game mind you!) and I can't even pass the second level. They really should have made it a little easier to just SEE all the levels, really wanted to hear all the music and see all the unique gameplay elements.

I did however get the Spelunkers platinum trophy, which will probably always be a JP game, so...

Anulpha Pass ( forward ), and a bit of practice. Not that hard in my opinion. Past Zone 80... Now *then* it becomes difficult.

Am I the only one who finds Anulpha Pass not 'that' easy? That narrow space near after the lap marker I always hit the walls.

I find Syncopia (new Fury track) to be the easiest, but I can't get higher than Zone 50.

Wahh!!!

Late Boomer - Get 15 bombs in Bomber

I have it :). It took me about a kazillion times though. The secret lies in using the enemy "mines" to blow up the "bomb tank", leaving you with 2 free bombs. The hard part lies in the fact that the mines themselves cannot harm the "tank", but need to be driven into particles close to it.

Moreover, the "tank" can be used as cover, and it's worth noting that it can actually help you plow through the mine fields, giving you an extra escape route, so you shouldn't always blow it up as soon as you see it.

Blowing the tanks up with bombs, leaving you with +1 bombs for every tank is also an option, but survival w/o offense when the red crystals start appearing makes it a lot harder imo.

There are videos on Youtube were you can see the levels and hear the music in Trash Panic :) I know that checking Youtube isnt quite the same thing as playing the game though, but at least Youtube is one way to see the levels and hear the music at least :)

I got to level 5 in Trash Panic, but i dont know if i will ever complete that level, so i get to see Level 6 for myself. Maybe i can complete level 5 if i check some Youtube videos to get hints and help on which strategy to use to complete the level, but even when doing this, level 5 might still be hard to complete i think.

Nice! Congratulations on getting this platinum trophy! :)

Tales of Vesperia.

Secret Mission 17. Dont know how people got it buts complicated as hell. You have to attack the enemy a certain way and at the right time you have to use another character to shoot a certain part of the enemy with an arrow.

Droplitz has an achievement where you need to survive for 2 hours. I found it easy. I quit after 3 and had to go to bed, but before you get decent at the game it seems impossible. It still was a strain considering the amount of concentration and speed needed to survive is immense. At times I got dizzy and my eyes got loopy while accomplishing the task. The pieces start to blur together and you can't concentrate on any of it.

Not to mention it's just about impossible these days, but the online has ALWAYS been broken since Day 1.
This game got a lot more hate then it deserved, and the hate made the online modes a toxic wasteland no one wanted to touch. It's impossible to get some of the online achievements for the game today. How can you get 10,000 frags in ranked matches when it takes days to find a single game?

WipeOutHD - Beat Zico - Beat or equal lap time of 30.82 on Anulpha Pass (forward), Venom class, in the Pirrahna.

The last one I need for platinum - and I hate racing venom - too slow.

The problem is that the description is incredibly vague and you are not told what to do, but once you find out it's pretty simple, actually.

You need to stop attacking after the break guard animation is triggered or you miss your chance, but other than that you have quite a wide margin:

Even this one is impossible to me. Even having a trash can half-full at the end of the level is impossible. Even finishing a level is nearly impossible to me. :lol

This game is hard, probably because the included manual is the greatest piece of shit I've ever read : it makes no sense, explains nothing and actually add confusion to an already very confusing game.

The worst part of achievements/trophys is having to play shitty games in order to collect them all.
I never thought i'd hate mirror's edge that much. Wipeout hd is still my game of the gen but some of them make me despise it (i fear for my sanity when i'm gonna start the last tournament on campaign elite). All the collect-a-thon (orbs/docs/insignia/pigeons ext...) is fucking repulsive.
Thank god for pc gaming.

I bet the last agility orb you need is at the top of the dome in the northern island.

I just checked, it was not there.

Anyone else have any ideas? I'm that desperate.

The one in Smash TV XBLA where you have to complete the entire game without continuing. I can't get through the first room without continuing!

They're not mandatory. Just do the good achievements and ignore the bad ones. If you feel that compelled to catch 'em all, you have more serious problems than e-peen lust.

Neither ridiculous, or impossible, but incredibly annoying...

Any game that ties a trophy to beating it on the "most extreme, ultra hyper super difficulty". Just about every game has this one, and IMO, shows an incredible lack of originality.

Warhawk!

.

I got that one. I randomly went into a Team DM in Destroyed Capitol where two über noobs hardly knew the front of a Warhawk from the back. I just destroyed them over and over until the match was over, which wasn't that many minutes. And I'm not very good at the game either.

I like the Dead Rising achievement. Yes, it is completely insane, but it's doable you just have to be "that freaking crazy" to do it.

I plan some day to pull a 15 hour session, maybe a drinking game with friends to make the time go by.

It's glitched and unobtainable even if you manage to do it.

Battlefield: Bad Company - I am Bad Company! - (Online) Achieve all the awards

'all the awards' includes several individual awesome things like 52 kills in a round, 20 headshots in a round and ... 50 savior trophies.

you get one savior trophy by getting 30 savior points in a round, you get 5 savior points by killing an enemy who has put a teammate on low health.

The 52 kills in a round and 20 headshots are harsh but can be got if you focus on nothing else. The Strike award (5 kills within two seconds) relies on pure luck though. I know only one person who has got it.

The real bitch though is the one requiring you to run over 50 people in a boat. I must be up around 20,000 kills and I haven't done that once.

Ridiculous: Any achievement that it's not fun.

Achievements should be a distraction, o new way of playing the game (geoWars) or just something fun/unexpected (kicking a chicken on Fable 2, watching the movie on The Darkness)

Anything that just makes your game to change into a boring, grind, repetitive thing just to get a fucking virtual number is kind of stupid. But hey, they make the game 12 hours larger rigth?

Fuck developers.

The Gears of War 2 achievement that requires you to get like 100 thousand or 1 mil kills total. I've had the game since launch and only reached 12,500 last night.

Theres an easy (but time consuming) way to do it. Keep replaying the last level over and over again.

For the most part I hate the online achievements/trophies. Some of them are not too bad but it's hard finding someone when the game is a few months old.

Street Fighter IV is damn hard too. But one of the hardest has to be the one where you have to return a missed field goal for a touchdown on NCAA Football 10. I've been playing football games for years and I don't think I never came even close to do that.

Is SF4 really all that hard though? I'm at 850 and all I'm pretty sure the last 4 achievements are all tied together, in that once I do all the hard trials everything else should unlock.

That's going to be on pretty 150 point unlock when it finally happens. I do have to admit, though, even for an SF veteran, some of those trials are really, really hard.

Survived 1,000,000 (geo wars 1)
Earn 1,000,000 points without dying

I had 979,000 points the other night and I died. Been playing this game off and on for 2 years now. I will have this someday. I don't know why but for some reason this is the only achievement that has really irked me. I must have it.

WipEout HD's trophy set is actually the best I can think of, because of how some seem utterly impossible, but are actually very doable. And the Big 3 (Zone Zeus, Beat Zico, Elite Campaign Legend) make it a journey. Chipping your Beat Zico lap time down from 4 seconds too slow, to successfully squeezing in barrell rolls where barrell rolls don't even fit, to finally nailing the most perfect of laps and going nuts with celebration. Or going from always crashing out at Zone 30 to getting excited about hitting Zone 65 and finally seeing your target slip into the list of upcoming zones. Or that one time you crashed out at 48/49 when going for Airbreaker. So much amazing shit happens on the road to Transcendence.

PAIN and Trash Panic, however, as many have said, can fuck right off.

MLB The Show 09 is tough.
I've invested probably close to 50+ driving hours in my Forza 2 career and I have something like 200 achievement points. What the hell do I need to do?

Getting every achievement in Rumble Roses XX takes a lot of time, like a lot or so I have heard.

So, my pick: Rumble Roses XX.

I think I had 9 of them and was right at the end when I gave up... some day I will play more and get some of those missing cheevos.

It's not worth it. The fucking moon laser mini game is next to impossible and to get the achievement you have to play it perfectly.

Button mashing minigames in an RPG are fucking dumb.

If you use the 17 second tag match win on Hard it could take 250 hours... most of it loading :lol

I have over 70,000. It obviously just depends on how much and the modes you play.

Darklord said:
Isn't there an achievement in Dead Rising where you have to leave the game on for like 72 hours and Frank loses health so you have to stay and keep refilling it with food? I'd say that.

Oh and Final Fantasy XI. It's IMPOSSIBLE to get all those level 75 classes. I've heard just one takes hundreds of hours.

I lol'd hard. You probably talked to someone that played FFXI and some casual type MMO. FFXI is hard yes, but leveling is pretty easy if you know the game mechanics. Once you get one 75, the rest become progressively easier.

I would say it's probably harder to get a relic weapon in FFXI then get all jobs to 75.

Moon laser isn't too bad. Frustrating and hard, yes. But no where near as hard as the first button mashing mini-game door, the
Squashtrich
, or Mechat Shooting Stage 3.

These three goddamn achievements for the game right here turned me off before I finished the last disc.

Fuck you Artoon/Mistwalker for these.

Also Warhawk's achievements are insanely easy to get if you have two-eight players willing to work toward them. The only insane ones are the ranks, fuck getting 1000 Warhawk kills just to get a rank up. Fuck it hard.

OK but your 3 faults gets you no achievement. Not difficult to understand. =/

But not really "ridiculously impossible" :D Plus it was a first run on the that tourney, so I had no idea what levels were going to be next.

Chromehounds online achievements are by far the hardest to gain fairly of any game. After 1/6/2010 they will be impossible to get because of the servers going offline... so um, I guess we have a winner. :D

An easy way to get it is to just grind the part where you
ride the brumark
over and over. However, it still takes forever.
