Makes you feel rather small and insignificant, doesn't it?

Man, I love space. It's terrifying and awe inspiring all at once.

Timelapse footage released by the space agency Nasa shows a solar eruption taking place around the edge of the sun.

The coronal mass ejection (CME) took place on Wednesday 1 May 2013.

The latest flare released more than a billion tons of particles at speeds of more than a million mph.

The 10 second clip shows events which took place over two and a half hours.

Amazing.

Imagine if the Earth was that size. All the continents on our planet would only cover a small junk on the surface of the planet. Assuming we had the same level of technology as we do now I imagine we would still be exploring it and nowhere close to covering the entire thing.

I feel so small right now.

How do some people truly believe that there isn't life outside of Earth (even if just microorganisms)?
