Have you written similar posts for other JRPGs?I forgot I wrote such a lengthy final thoughts post. Here's a link to that.

Not that much. But Ao Evo is loaded with lots of crappy stuff. for example
Also, is all the story stuff for the most part fully translated? Seemed confusing based on the first post and the subsequent update that have been released?
Everything is translated. My tester SkyeWelse is doing some editing. That's all.
I thought it was depending on Brandish's performance, I guess we know now how that performed.
No, even before Brandish was released, we could've pretty much told you Nayuta was highly unlikely. Brandish was a one-time deal based on the fact that we'd basically had it penciled into our schedule for a long time and were just waiting for Falcom to free up enough time and manpower to get it taken care of, and part of what made it so viable for us was the small amount of text and the simple, easy-to-QA and easy-to-reprogram design.
Nayuta, on the other hand, has a LOT of text and is anything BUT simple and easy to QA, sadly. Even if we were to buy the fan-translation as we did with most of our Ys titles, the amount of time and effort it would take to edit that translation, get Falcom to support it and test everything just plain wouldn't work for us. It would be almost guaranteed to lose us money.
It's one of the sad facts of the industry: you can't always work on what you want, as it's just sometimes not a viable option. You can push, but sometimes, you're just going to be out of luck.

It's bad, but it's enough for you to understand the story and the game. How is the translation here? I've heard that it is machine translated, so I'm pretty wary. Some of these screens look really bad.
It's an Xdelta patch, it's very straightforward. Just choose the rom (has to be iso I think) and then the patch, and apply. Done. It's been a while since I applied a fan-translation patch, I don't know what I'm doing and there isn't a nice tutorial helping like the Zetsubou team made for Danganronpa.
Is it true some of the tracks were ripped of from Xenosaga Ep.1 ? And if so which ones?
Yoooo, what?
This is weird...
The soundtrack so far has been good, but I wouldn't put it on the same level as other Falcom soundtracks. But I did not expect this =P
Lol give it some time to grow on you - I thought it was on par with Ys Seven's, which is fantastic IMO. My playlist also includes who composed each track at the description of every video - this way you'll know who to praise/scorn.
Well, to be fair, I just started chapter one =X
But hey, if it's on par with Ys Seven, then I'll retract my statement asap.
Holy shit this translation is terrible and typo everywhere, the guy behind this doesn't even know Japanese.
The unholy combination of what little Japanese he does know, Google translate, and good old fashioned guesswork. Bleh.

It is a shame that this will probably kill any chances of someone actually translating this into real English.
No one was going to localize it anyway. XSEED is the only one doing Falcom games and Tom said they had no interest in it.

Actually, we have a lot of interest. We just don't have the resources, on multiple levels.

that's a pity. tell them to remaster the game for the newer hardware

Is there any way to play my UMD in english? Or will I need to rip it and then patch it?
Eh? I thought he just used EDICT to help sometimes. That's pretty different from relying on Google translate, and still requires in depth knowledge of the grammar. To be fair, this isn't much different from what Deuce does. :v
You have to rip the game, I don't think any fan translations have live patches.
Damn. How big is the file? I only have a 1gb Memory Stick even though that stuff is crazy cheap.

Just a quick question, does this game has japanese voice acting ?
I did not knew about this game and I wat to go throught the entire Kiseki series this year. At the moment, I am already playing Trails in the Sky 2, but a text-only japanese game has been quite a challenge to say the least.

It has a bit, but it's weird (it comes in for two lines of dialogue, and then the rest of the scene is text-only lol). But this game is more gameplay-focused than story-focused. There's actually not that much reading compared to your typical Ys game (maybe even less than an Ys game).
This isn't really a Kiseki game. It's pretty much Zwei 3, they just called it Nayuta no Kiseki so it would sell more copies. It has nothing to do with the rest of the series.
And it does have voice-acting, but it's VERY limited. Only a small handful of scenes are voice-acted.

Thanks for the answers. Will try to get htis later, because it seems to be a great game.
If it's not text-heavy, the lack of VA should not be a problem.
I very much doubt Deuce could pass a JLPT4-type test without relying on WWWJDIC.
Are there any instructions on how I get this working?
Idk what to do after downloading the .xdelta file
There's a program called xdelta GUI which will help you out.
An hour in and I've been in battles about five minutes of those. The rest has been long-winded, badly written conversations. I don't really care for Falcom's new trend of stretching out their action RPGs to obscene lengths with all this dialogue, none of which is particularly interesting.
