wait a sec.......Kenny "The Jet" Smith doing commentary? sold!

hmm.....on the replay at the end of footage 7, the ball seems to stutter as it goes to the basket. its only a replay and its in slow motion, but shouldnt it be smoother at 60fps?

He did it for the current gen too, but it's like he's saying the same crap the previous guys have been saying for the past 3 years.

Probably because he is...I'm pretty sure they are using mostly the same script year after year. That's the one thing I love about Live's presentation. The commentary they have with Marv Albert and Steve Kerr is great.

game moves so smooth and looks so great....this is making me think about getting a 360....no!!

They haven't even updated the rosters. Wesley's still a Rocket in the Nov. 7 footage. Also, they still haven't fixed the transition from an isomotion move into a shot; in one of the gameplay vids you see Ray Allen put the ball behind his back then take a jumper right in front of the rim. Seems what I said earlier about both games being engine upgrades primarily rings particular true for 2K6.

Maybe the person playing the game stopped moving the player with the left analog stick right before he chose the shot selection stick instead of continuing pushing both left and right analog sticks forward?
If I recall playing the xbox version of 2k6, you move the right analog stick to choose exactly what type of shot you want no?

It didn't appear to happen that way judging by the video. As for shot selection, that's kind of how it works, yeah, but not for jump shots. If you're doing a layup pressing the shot stick in a certain direction determines the type of layup you perform, but a jump shot is a jump shot regardless of the direction you push the stick in. That reminds me of another stupid thing about 2K6, the ridiculous animation you'd get if you tried a lay-up by pressing down on the shot stick. I hope they addressed that.

Nice thanks. The streetball mode is actually alot more fun with friends as you can charge and swat all you like without worrying about fouls.

why did you show that 1up movie? Theres no more to argue about in the lighting...so what more can everybody say is wrong with the game graphically? Live is put to shame once again,

Boo at the nba2k6 trailer on the xbox360, it was the crappy xbox one, i work at best buy got a chance to play around with the 360, I was very happy on how everything is just so accessable... very smooth. Found COD boring, but pretty good frames.

Nevermind, think I catch your drift. Guess the X360 Component output is a tad warm naturally...will have to investigate.

wow, the streetball aspect looks pretty bad. where are their shadows? :/

ah k. I stopped playing the xbox version in anticipation of the x360 one.
At any rate, looking forward to firing up this puppy come the 22nd!

Yep, but I'll need more than this to get a 360 though...having a hard time. Hopefully somebody I know will plunk down the cash so I can play it.

Do you see the light reflections on the shoulders and arms... and bald heads... it is very life-like, I cannot wait to see NBA2K7 and they will probably start working on it in a few weeks since NBA2K6 has to be complete on X-Box 360 now!

Those videos sealed my preorder of 2K6 over Live 06. As good as they both look in pictures, I have to give the nod to 2K6 in motion, much smoother. Gameplay-wise I was willing to give both a chance on a clean slate.

Is it just me or did the street ball movie make it look like the guys were still lit by indoor lighting?

I'm getting a 360 strictly for NBA 2K6 and NHL 2K6 as purchases. I may rent some other titles, but there's nothing other than Oblivion that caught my eye.

Did anyone notice the weird pop-in of the audience. It looks like some of them pop from 2D to 3D. Looks great non the less though.

Live still looks better to me. 2K6 definitely has better player animations along with the great cloth physics but Live has everything else going for it visually including lighting, reflections, presentation, npc modeling etc. Maybe its the color palette because 2K6 seems matted while Live just shines.

Excellent! Those are the best videos of the title that I've seen yet. The player animations are the best I've seen in a videogame.

you do know that the current gen version of this is a port of the 360 version.

But really...what is so wrong with using the current gen animations?

As long as they cleaned up some of the dumb glitches I would be happy.

Still animates 10x better than a "ground up" NBA Live.

I posted this in another NBA 2k6 thread , but more people might see it in this one. Do yourself a favor and watch these asap.

If you want to see a close facsimile of what the game will look like when it on your HDTV, check these vids out. You need a decent computer to play these.

What is the problem with the passing animations in BBALL games? You see players walk two steps forward with the ball over their heads into a guard standing still and then throwing the ball backwards.

Looks like NBA2K5 in motion. Exact same animation. And people rip on EA. At least they are rebuilding their sports games from the ground up.
