That was amazing!
Very clear step up from last week. It was a good episode, although I'm not jumping on the hyperbole bandwagon. It was above average, even by Community standards, yeah, but get real guys, it's nowhere near the best sitcom episode of all time; hell, it's not even the series' best for me.
That said, it was really funny, especially the Dean, Senior Chang and Annie in the garbage bin :lol I'm still uneasy about the show's overall direction moving forward, but this particular episode vastly surpassed my expectations.
That seems really good, and quite refreshing after the crazy last few eps. Hopefully it'll put my fears to rest and restore my confidence that they can find a middle ground between batshit insane and more grounded episodes.

Amazing, enjoyed it thoroughly. I think they could have made this into an hour long episode, some more build up and some extended fight scenes would have been great. (I thought some of the "death" scenes were a bit rushed.)

I thought I saw Justin Lin's name in the credits at the beginning but I can't find any info about it. Did the director of the cinematic masterpiece known as Tokyo Drift direct this episode?

Truly, truly awesome. I think the fact that some people hated it (or hate the series) is pretty much a testament to how great the show is.
I *like* how the series becomes over-the-top and cartoonish. It elevates it somewhere above your average laugh-track sitcom, and the "sorta-realistic-but-really-awkward" comedies that have been popular over the last few years.
But besides that, I think it's just that the show is extremely likable. The characters are top-notch, the plots funny and interesting without taking themselves too seriously, and Harmon's been able to do things with the setting that I never would've considered.
Community has given itself, right from the start, the ability to be as absurd as it needs to be, and there's not quite anything else like it on television.
