It seems the PS3 games from NCSoft are no more. Only one of them seemed to make it into development, and interestingly enough was apparently a casual game.

NCsoft Europe publishing MD Véronique Lallier has confirmed to VG247 that the company’s previously mentioned PS3 MOG has been shelved.

“We did an announcement a few years ago about signing a contract with Sony, and actually, to be honest, we didn’t put anything into the market,” she said, speaking at the publisher’s UK, Brighton office yesterday.

“We are not working on anything at the moment. The project we were working on was casual gaming, actually; not something we continued, unfortunately.”

Lallier added that console games are still part of the company’s “strategy, but nothing in the pipeline.”

The exec added that NCsoft is “still looking at opportunities” in the console space.

“This is my own opinion, and I’m not quoting NCsoft here: I think the platform is not console or PC, but it’s the internet,” she said.

NCsoft said in early 2008 that it was to announce and show its PS3 game towards the end of last year. Never more.

Update: We said in the original draft of this story that this game was an MMO. NCsoft’s asked us to clarify that the title was actually an MOG, and we’ve edited the piece to reflect this.

Yeah... it sounds more like NCsoft asked for a PS3 devkit to see whats up and Sony needed some filler material for that E3 conference. Again, if anybody is dissapointed, is their own fault for setting up their expectations so high on a game that had not been announced, in a genre that has never been pulled off properly on consoles.

And technically they signed up to develop exclusively for Sony platforms and that they were developing something for PSN. Both of which stayed true as they didn't develop for any competing systems and they were "developing" "something"

The only reason why the GW2 announcement was so hyped was because it could have been a possible PS3 exclusive (like FFXIV but not timed). Well, now we can drop everybody who got in the bandwagon, and only the people who really appreciatte GW2 for what it is will remain.

Korean, they have a bunch of free-to-play MMOs, as well as Lineage, City of Heroes/Villains and Guild Wars. Aion, which briefly hung around the front page is theirs too. They were also the publishers for Tabula Rasa and Auto Assault (among others), which I suppose gives them notoriety. I suspect they have a ton more in Korea proper, but hell if I know what.

The director of B&S said he hadn't thought about it, but now that someone asked he was considering it. It's on UE3 so it probably wouldn't be that much of an issue.

It probably wouldn't be at the game's launch though.
