My 6 year old daughter is finally getting into minecraft. She wants me to setup a server so we can play together. Since she is six, i really don't want us to use a public server and seeing her house destroyed to make room for a 10 story dong tower. My other 3 kids all went through previous phases and its been a few years since i messed with setting up a minecraft server. I have a spare pc. A laptop thats a celeron m processor 330. Its a single core 32 bit processor running at 1.4 ghz. There is 512 megs of ram. If i threw ubuntu on it, is there any chance it could run a local minecraft server for 2 to 3 players max? My gut feeling is no but I figured someone might know if its worth a shot.
