Need for Speed (2015, Full Reboot, PC/PS4/XB1, Ghost) Reveal Trailer

I don't mind open world but the one underground2 sucked imo. I also would like a fast travel option. I don't want to have to spend 5-10 minutes just driving to a race.

They should really name it Underground 3.

I know it's a bit of a cheesy early 2000's word, "underground", but it really brings back good vibes.

Don't try to do anything that takes itself too seriously and tries to be hip and cool, cause it's primarily supposed to be a fun game.

Not a whole lot of people want to see a serious representation of illegal street racing.

I hope they can strike that happy middle between lighthearted theme and hardcore design.

People saying bleh open world..but never played Underground 2 nor Most wanted 2005...

I am getting excited now, please be good don't fail me ghost games!

That's what's divisive for me. I personally enjoy the roleplaying aspect of cruising from place to place is a city that's well made but vague enough that it let's me use my imagination.

Posing for magazines in locales around the city was also a good example of the lighthearted theme with hardcore ego boost arcade design.

"Deep Customisation, Authentic Urban Car Culture, Open World, and Immersive Narrative"

Outside of customization, I don't like the sound of any of these very much. They're mixing Underground, Rivals and The Run into one single game.

EDIT: Also some Hot Pursuit or Most Wanted stuff too.

i don't mind open world, but get the issues. I hate having to keep an eye on a tiny map as I'm trying to win a race through a city with multiple routes and easy opportunities to get lost.

I mean can all the anti open world people who wanted an nfs underground explain to me what exactly you wanted from a street racer? Half the appeal in underground 2 was being to able to drift and glide in a open world after spending hours customising your ride and being careless and releasing your inner boy racer. You can't create that sensation in a pure track to track setting, I mean typically I'm not a fan of open world racers but for this it works this

Lol at that trailer being representation of the graphics lol. It's not even the models or textures, that lighting is insane same thing with that battlefield video.

I think people aren't against the connected world, they're against having to drive to every single event, rather than simply selecting it and getting put right into the action. There's also no guarantee that the courses will be locked down. Burnout paradise didn't lock down tracks, so you ended up staring at your mini map half the time.

Some people like the idea of cruising around from event to event. Other people just want to race on a set circuit.

This place suffers from collective bipolar and multiple personality disorder.

Same people bitching about "LOL CORRIDOR RACER" are bitching about "ANOTHER DAMB OPEN WORLD RACER".

I'm getting tired of how trendy the bitching has become.

Point out someone who has said both those things, because that would be funny!

It was fun for a bit but got really old quick that I just want to do races, which meant having to seek them out. It started to become a chore by end game.

such negativity in this thread. It looks great. I expect the final game to look very similar to that trailer.

I will say that I am disappointed that there is no day time racing. Hopefully there will be a patch or DLC download for that option.

I loved when Midnight Club launched with my PS2. Played it a ton...but also was disappointed there was no day time racing. It did have dusk, like this game will.

I wouldn't be interested in the game if it wasn't open world. Supposedly this game is aping the street racing culture like Underground and you want it to not be open world? What?

Open world is a plus.

Nightime alone gives me pause, but including dusk should at least provides some variety to the overall visuals.

Haven't seen enough of how this game works to really say much at this point.

dusk? tsk tsk

this is the scene man!! there is no dusk!! we start at night, finish at dawn, just before regular folks wake up for work and cops go for donuts (or souvlaki) :D

I wonder if the people might not be a hivemind, but actually separate people who like different parts of the NFS series.
Oh I understand. It's just that it's funny how almost everyone complains about publishers and developers not listening to them when the reality is that the userbase is so fragmented in what they want that those making the game can't please anyone, and in turn end up being confused in what to make.

deep customisation, authentic urban car culture, a nocturnal open world

This is exactly what I've been wanting from this franchise for a long time. Sounds great. Hopefully there are street drift events.

They want a racing game where you're limited to where you can go. What's the point in customizing your own car and then only being able to drive it on a specified road from point A to B? What the hell is wrong with people, best part of Underground 2 was the open world.
I think that like me,they're also worried that the races will not be 'closed' like Underground 2

If you're concerned about the number of cross streets while you're racing it seems like a good idea is to emulate Tokyo Xtreme Racer. Base your routes on the highways and limit exits and junctions to a certain extent. Lets you increase the speed too.

I feel like we just had a Need for Speed reboot.

I am curious how many people are going to look at the footage now and think that the game is actually going to look anything like that at launch. I hope most people have wised up to this shit.

I hope it's truly open world, without any of the giant arrow crap.
The arrows were cool for races though. I'm always a person who says for races it shouldn't be open like that it's confusing as fuck especially when there are a lot of narrow streets.

Open world and cops?

I'm failing to see the reboot part.

Please, please, pleeeeeeease tone down the presence of police. It has gone overboard and completely ruined the past couple NFS games. Especially Rivals.

Sounds good to me. As long as a host migration doesn't wipe out my session progress like it would in NFS: Rivals.

"LOL CORRIDOR RACER"

I never said such a thing. I don't mind open world but, I doesn't do anything for me in racing games. I just want to race, not drive to where the race is, feels tedious.

I wanted closed tracks and no cops.

I'm realistic about the closed tracks, that's a tough sell these days, but this would have been the time to rebrand without cops on your ass all the time.

Do you also ask for more military shooters? How many open world street racing games with deep customization do we have? How many closed track racing games with no cops do we have?

Meh. Despite the bull video, I'm excited. I hope for more highway stuff, though, maybe in the vein of Shutokou Battle/Tokyo Extreme Racer. NFSU2 had some aspects, but the highways sucked.

Most wanted let you jump into the event without driving if I remember correctly. I don't see why they wouldn't do that here.
