Been writing a song and I'm not sure how to transition it into the next part because it sounds like I'm hitting a wall. I was thinking of doing something like Section A, Section B, Section C, Section B Section C Section B type thing.

I was thinking of going back to C and doing like a IV V vi progression, but it feels awkward in my attempts. Should I modulate to something first? Or go to a different key, then modulate back to C?

Maybe try saying Pyes once in a while.

you should establish the tonic clearly in the beginning
go from I - whatever - V - I
this gives the listener a frame of reference of sorts to say "hey we're in C!"
then you can modulate to whatever from this starting point
