NeoGAF Summer 2013 Candy Swap (Registration Closed)

I'll join...

NeoGAF username: Gemüsestäbchen (never forget those ulmauts)
Country of residence: Germany
2 countries you would like to swap with: Japan, or USA.
Things you like: Jelly / gummy sweets, hard candy, crisps are appreciated if we can deviate a little :) (And are great packing material)
Things you dislike, cannot have or allergic to: Hate liquorice / aniseed sweets, choc is okay (but summer heat is not!), no Haribo brand (I live in the land that is HQ of Haribo!)

... but I have to say the person I swapped with last year wasn't exactly on the same wavelength as me - I spent €40 massive box of goodies as agreed before postage and he sent literally 6 bars of sweets that were from some "specialist" who clearly ripped him off...
He did say that maybe he should've just gone to Wal-mart - so I can't really be cross (so not naming anyone), but wasn't what I expected at all - but still up for a swap - sugar is our fuel at work - so I'd be looking for someone who actually wants to send lots of local stuff...

A lot of American candy is everywhere - M&Ms, Hersheys, Snickers, Mars, Raisenettes, Milk Duds, OREO cookies etc.

On top of that I come to the US a bunch of times a year and buy candy to take back, so for me personally I'd prefer not to have a US partner unless they could manage exclusively boutique or very local stuff.

Yep, this is the issue I had. All these brands are all over the world and not special... However less "known brands" stuff like Swedish Fish are pretty cool for people in EU... I would gladly have entire box of those :P

Hard to tell really, but if in doubt I think it's okay to ask when people get partnered up.

I know I'm on the waiting list, but I'll gladly expand to basically any country outside of the United States (minus Canada and Mexico, since I've been to both and had lots of different candy). Hopefully that makes it easier if more people sign up.

Hurray, I was placed on the list! My wife and I are looking forward to swapping candy! She reads neogaf OT too, so she's seen all the great goodies people have sent in previous years.

Looking forward to buying a bunch to send out to my partner.

2 countries you would like to swap with: Japan, Switzerland (I have no real preference)
Things you like: dark chocolate, peanut butter, toffee, rich flavors, peppermint, I'm willing to try anything. Not opposed to other non-candy snacks.
Things you dislike, cannot have or allergic to: licorice

I just love how my tiny country threw on 4 swappers ^^
Dutch candy for erryoonnee (already collecting yummy stuff)
Any dutchies in for a day at Het openluchtmuseum at Arnhem? They have a (hear say) good traditional candystore there. I was planning on going there soon myself

I don't know how the pairing is done but I think I would be good match! I have a local specialty vendor here as noted a page back and would definitely avoid all the boring global brands. Looking to spend in the neighborhood of €40/$50 USD too and would like to see a large variety of goodies. I plan to record and upload an unboxing video.

I'll try to get them out as soon as possible. It's a lot of PMs to send. Wish I could at least put 2 people in a single pm so I can send pairs a single PM.

The teasers are one of the best parts of doing these swaps. Keep em coming.

Cool, time to get some sweets and my Hentai Woody out of the cupboard...

Last swappee didn't post/acknowledge any of the images I made :(
...here are some highlights:

Thank you! I'm super curious.

Here's my preview for you, some items didn't make it to the photo or only for a bit, but it gives you some idea at least.

Really having a blast with this. :D

I'm going to pop up town tomorrow and start shopping for bremon's goodies. I have a few ideas in mind but I fear the variety of UK confectionery is weak compared to that of Canada and the US.

That looks awesome! I went shopping for you this afternoon. I will post a pic tomorrow once I get the packing material.

Joseca, you'll love the stuff I sent. ^_^

Need to finish up my shopping and get this parcel on the road. Have some bits and pieces but want to head to a store across town.

Just landed in Hong Kong a few days ago and had some time to unwind. Picked up some stuff already but gonna go shopping this week probably and then get err'ting shipped out soon.
So hyped.

I just came to post a quick update, it looks like Mario was banned =(. Hopefully only temporarily?

I took care of just about everything on the weekend, though there's about 3 or 4 things that I forgot. Sucks that my swap buddy was banned, as I won't be able to get updates or reactions from him. Should have swapped e-mail address' with the guy as well.

Don't worry. I'm back in action :)

My shopping is done, so hopefully will have the parcel on the road by tomorrow once I get the chance to get to the Post Office. Monday at the latest.

I sent Romeo's package on Wednesday. I totally forgot to take a teaser pic, so you'll just have to be patient. :)

Hope you like it, we went for a lot of variety over a few large packages, so there's probably ~30 different kinds of items.

Snuck in just before the deadline today to get my package shipped. Came in at about 10 pounds worth of candy.

I have a photo of the whole haul out there on the interweb somewhere but it isn't blurred, so doesn't make for much of a teaser.
