So of all these albums listed in this thread. I wonder how many of you will actually pay for the albums. :P
I purchase every album I like. I buy at least two albums a week.

hmm, for the american scene, i'm looking forward too

the new Manson album, which is supposedly done more or less, its just whenever he feels like releasing it.

Godhead should have a new label and street date for the new album in the next few days

Dope goes back in the studio end of this year, on a new label (V-2) aiming at an early 2007 release.

for the korean scene

DJ Shine has an album dropping this summer i hear. should be hot

Masta Wu is also finishing up his 2nd record. should be out this year

Drunken Tiger is finally off Doremi records, and started thier own label. i wouldnt be surprised if a new album drops before year end

Seriously, i'd be buying a lot more than the 2-3 I buy a week, if there were more new releases. Best Buy does a decent job for such a big retailer. They provided me with most of my Godspeed albums, which can't be said for any other retailer around here.

I live 10 blocks from one of the greatest record stores in the world, which means I'm constantly buying CDs and 7"s.

I NEVER, and I do mean NEVER, download music.

the pAper chAse - now you Are one of us = 06/06/06

Other stuff I'm looking forward to (that hasn't been mentioned):

Boris + Sunn O))) - Altar/Alter
Boris - Vein
An Albatross - Blessphemy (Of the Peace Beast Feast-Giver...)
Racebannon - Acid or Blood?

Lots of shit that doesn't have dates or titles or whatever, yet, too. But I'm too lazy to keep listing.

I would like to thank this thread for letting me know a new Less than Jake is coming out next month. Hallelujah. Just listened to the first single Overrated and it was pretty damn good stuff.:)

Thanks for this thread for letting me know what is up..

Couple of things not mentioned in this thread.

People under the Stairs- Stepfather
The Coup - Pick a bigger weapon
Immortal Technique- the middle passage

The New Bouncing Souls
The New Thunderball

Lovelovelove 'Logic Will Break Your Heart'. What I've heard from this new LP is definitely a bit of a different direction for them. Not sure if I like it as much, but maybe it'll grow on me.

Charlatans UK, Simpatico (April 17)
Black Heart Procession, The Spell (May 9)
Radio 4, Enemies Like This (May 16)
Twilight Singers, Powder Burns (May 16)
Mission of Burma, The Obliterati (May 23)
Juana Molina, Son (May 23)
Nelly Furtado, Loose (May 30)
Jamie Lidell, Multiply Editions (May 30)
Lady Sovereign, TBA...

What I've heard off the Starlight Mints' disc is disappointing, save for "Seventeen Devils."

In Search Of Sunrise 5: Los Angeles, naturally (though I've heard some leaked MP3s from it already and know about 1/2 the tracks on there :P)

Peaches is awesome live. She came out on stage and yelled "I LIKE TO SUCK COCK!" and the crowd went wild crazy. When things slowed down again, she yelled "I LIKE TO EAT PUSSY!" and the crowd went nuts again. And then this naked woman body painted in the style of the american flag came out and had 4 hula hoops going at once as Peaches performed.

One of the most memorable shows ever.
I have to agree. The last time I saw her, she had a few costume changes. At one point, she came out in skin tight white pants and started her song. About a minute in she started to "bleed" from the crotch and the red fanned out across the entire front of her pants. Hot.

Also rumored for this year but lacking release dates:

Jarvis Cocker
The Breeders

New Wrens album! Fuck yeah!
New Rentals album too, but no idea when it'll be released.
Also, Tilly and the Wall - Bottoms of Barrels and all those wonderful Bishop Allen EPs leading up to the release of Clementines

I really like Drowaton, but it's the first I've heard from Starlight Mints, so I can't really compare. The Raconteurs album is ok, nothing spectacular.

Beyond that amazing album coming out, this year includes new albums by:

New Found Glory
Sister Hazel
Incubus
Red Hot Chili Peppers
etc...

Ah shit, I keep forgetting about this. I hope the (expectedly) long wait will be worth it. At least the wait hasn't been as bad as the wait between Seacaucus and The Meadowlands.

The only two upcoming CD's I have any interest in are Evanescence "The Open Door" -- in stores Oct 3rd -- and Sister Hazel "Absolutely -- in stores Oct. 10th.

I actually just found a torrent tonight for an advance of Sister Hazel's new album. I'm still planning to buy the CD, but I couldn't resist... Been itching to hear it since I heard the first single. :D

I'm going to imagine you guys are just ignoring Too $hort's "Blow the Whistle" because it is already so well known.

With popular strip club and gentleman's club tracks as "Blow the Whistle" and "I Was Getting Some Head," you can not go wrong with the sixteenth album from the nation's favorite bay area rapper.

BIATCH.

heh, no pretending... I *am* ignoring anything rap related. :)

If it's any consolation, I'm also only paying attention to CD's I intend to buy. Most the groups I listen to have already put out CD's this year that I've picked up. The two I mentioned are the only ones I know about later this year that pique my interest.

Dead Hearts - Bitter Verses
Sinking Ships - Disconnecting
Guns Up - Outlive
Set Your Goals - Mutiny
Terror - Always the hard way
Set it Straight - Live your heart and never follow
Verse - From anger and rage

Any other GAF hc kids PM me.

The Mars Volta - Amputechture
Lightning Bolt - Frenzy
Boris/Sunn o))) - Altar
MF Doom - Accapellas
Madvillain - Madvillainy 2
Common - New LP
Blood Brothers - Young Machetes
...Trail of Dead - New LP
Mastadon - Blood Mountain
Tenacious D - Pick of Destiny
Melvin Van Peelbes - Meets Quasimoto
Fall of Troy - Fall of Troy (reissue)
Arcade Fire - New LP

thats all i can think of off the top of my head

Yeah but no album release until next year. :(

Really? Shit, I was hoping we'd at least get it this year.

rail of Dead and The Arcade Fire are coming out with new LP's? Excellent.

Hopefully ToD rebounds nicely from the shitty shitty World's Apart. When is this new album due out?
