They animated some scenes in that season I think, but it was mostly home grown in America. It wasn't until season 2 when Madhouse definitely got more involved and well as other otherseas studios.

"In 2006, McGruder explained in an interview, "We now have a Japanese anime studio named Madhouse to help us out";,[18] but at some point, the deal with Madhouse fell through.[19] Instead, MOI Animation, an Emmy Award-winning South Korean studio, handled the animation for season two onwards.[20] As a result, the following seasons of the series have more detailed animation, as well as minor updates for most of the character designs."

Oh, I didn't know that Netflix has another anime for mid 2016: "Ajin - Demi-Human"

The television anime will premiere in January on the MBS, TBS, and CBC stations in Japan. Netflix will stream the series in Japan three days after airing on Japanese television. Netflix noted that "All episodes of the series will premiere at once in regions Netflix currently operates outside of Japan in mid-2016."

This is specifically what I was talking about, yeah. It's kinda weird to me to decry western-created "anime" when it's animated by the same studios as Japanese anime.

One of these days imma learn not to trust official wikis.

I wonder why Moi had a drastic art shift for older characters in season 3 then. 2006? Maybe another studio then.

I still cant figure out if that means Madhouse did s1 or not. Whoever typed that on wikipedia sucks.

Fuck all of y'all. American produced anime can be great. Fucking great.

Also if these are big/small I apologize. I did this all on my phone

IGPX was a piece of shit and the second Season of Big O wasn't as good as the first.

Space Dandy is pretty great though. That was co-funded by Adult Swim/Toonami.

This reminds me I have to watch Narcos and Club de Cuervos one day. Animes aren't that expensive to produce if Netflix wanted they could start up a studio of their own and make 5 anime for the price of one marvel show probably.

That's cool and all, but I just wish they would fund S3 of Young Justice, and S2 of Sym-Bionic Titan. I'd love you forever, Netflix!

From the credits in S1 it lists the overseas key animation and such as a bunch of individual koreans, no actual studio is listed from what I can tell

Certainly wasn't madhouse

While they're at it, they should remake those anime under the BONES studio that either got the worst endings ever or were the victim of "BONES sequels."

My favorite part of any thread related to anime is when people start poking fun and then anime avatars flood in to frantically defend the medium. And this is coming from someone with an anime avatar haha

Hmmmm, interesting. As long as they don't use the same studio that does the cg anime style for Knights of Sidonia then we should be good.

I also like how Netflix just pops all episodes at once, I can see this being awesome for new anime releases.

Given Knights of Sidonia, I don't see them backing anything good in terms of anime. :\ Seven Deadly Sins doesn't look good either.

I wonder if this is the return of french anime and western focused anime.

(And more importantly, better visibility since a lot of western focused anime (like death parade) just get overlooked and forgotten despite being great).
