Big O's not American made, the 2nd season was funded by Adult Swim/Toonami since it didn't do so hot in Japan and they couldn't continue the 2nd cour without sales revenue.

On the one hand, big chance for anime to become at least partially interesting to non-Gaitakus again (the other stuff will still be made, it makes money). On the other hand, Japanese production companies can be real jerks when it comes to licensing, so Netflix may drop that venture sometime soon.

It'd be nice if they'd just add a good english dub to some already-existing animes. I can't listen to Japanese, so I'm waiting on a bunch of dubs. No biggie though, I'm patient.

Netflix already co-produces Japanese dramas with FujiTV over here.

e.g. That one about the women's lingerie business, I think it's called underwear.

It is, and it stars the cutest girl in all of Japan, Kiritani Mirei, who has been on all the magazines the past few months. Good job Netflix, they also picked up the production of The Terrace House.

So uh, this Seven Deadly Sins just became available to watch over here. Anyone watch this? It's pretty terrible imo, and I question if it's smart for Netflix to attach it's name to this. In the first episode, the first thing the main character does upon meeting the main female character is grope her while she's unconscious. In the second episode, he 'examines' her, and the third episode begins with him stealing her panties. While she's wearing them...

Like, I'm not so fussed about 'sexism in media' or whatever usually, but it's so fucking weird. The cultural divide is just too big to make it work, I think. Other than the sexual harassment, the plot seems pretty poor as well.

Heh, no... I just don't remember it being this bad. And especially in something Netflix would attach their name to and attempt to market to a western audience.

And for some people, watching this on Netflix may be their first anime. Couldn't imagine their reaction, lol.
