Netflix now on Irish & UK PSN/XBL

What kind of BBC/Channel 4 content is there?

If some good stuff that's missing from the US version is there I'll sign up for a trial, even though I've been using a US Netflix account here for months. Does it have cool C4 stuff like Brass Eye, Dark Place etc?

Can multiple people use the same account at once? If I'm in my room on the iPad can my room mates use it in the sitting room at the same time?

The stuff up is a bit random right now...

Spooks (1-7) , Doctor Who (1-4), Coupling (FULL), Torchwood (1-3), Faulty Towers (FULL), Little Britain (FULL), Psychoville (1), Outnumbered (1), Bellamy's People (1), Shameless (1-7), Misfits (1-2), Inbetweeners (1-3), IT Crowd (1-4), Peep Show (1-7), Skins (1-5), Top Gear (2-14), The Might Boosh (1-2), Robin Hood (1-3)

There are Random BBC Documentaries (not the really big ones). ITV stuff too - Secret Diary of a Callgirl, Cracker, Poirot

I did this last night. I watched a film on TV, and started South Park on iPad. My connection could not take it though (it is terrible), but both worked for the 30 seconds I tried though. I think it should work on a good quality connection - inless it notices after a few minutes

And if you want Channel 4 stuff, it's all most all for free right now anyway.

What's the US selection like? I'm not looking for bang up to date, but there's a bunch of shows I watched a few years back that it'd be nice to see again without buying huge boxsets.

Fuck Sony and their online taxes?

Hmmm ....... you're kidding right?

MS make you pay for a subscription to access free services and you are talking this shit, incorrect shit.

I assume he's referencing the recent game(Amy) that was announced as being 30% more expensive on PSN.

Holy Shit, Signed up and it already shit's on LoveFilm. Sorry Amazon this is my first choice now.

I've just been browsing the selection and it is so far above what Lovefilm has; much better than I thought it would be. I can only imagine this will strengthen Lovefilm in time though as they will have to vastly improve their streaming selection to keep up.

This thread is encouraging... the reports online of how difficult Lovefilm makes it for you to cancel, are not.

Oh that's a point, people who are in already, how is Netflix in comparison? ...obviously, don't CANCEL, but it is the link easy to find? And no phone bullshit?

Dammit no subtitle for Dexter? Ah only season one don't have one.

I hope they will improve the subtitle, Cap letters and Yellow, really?

In the US it's simple as can be, takes a few seconds clicking buttons online.

I've cancelled and then come back half a year later and it was like I never left the service.

US selection seems like a work in progress

Dexter (1-2), Breakign Bad (1-3), Arrested Development (1-3), Warehouse 13 (1-2) Xmen / Spiderman Cartoon (FULL), Heroes (1-4), Scrubs (1-5), Dollhouse (FULL), Jericho (FULL), Rescue Me (1-7), Nurse Jackie (1), Dirty Sexy Money (1), Weeds (1-3), Scrubs (1-5), Chapelle's Show (FULL), Saturday Night Live (Random New/Old Episode), South Park (Random Episodes), The 4400 (FULL), Highlander (1-6), Charmed (FULL), Firefly (FULL), Jersey Shore (1-2), The Hills (1-3), Pimp My Ride (1-3), Heartland (1-4), Private Practice (1-3), 24 (1-8), 90210 (1), Prison Break (1-4) Might Morphin Power Ranger (1-3), Rugrats (1-3), Wonderpets (1-3)...

...loads more Nickilodeon stuff (iCarly), and probably some stuff I missed.

Rugrats, nice. Seems good enough to go for the free trial and see how it goes.

Hopefully it'll grow over time. Can't think how often I just randomly muse something like "You know, I really fancy watching some Boston Legal" or some other show I've not seen in years and don't fancy spending tons on DVDs.

Ah, some subtitles are non-caps. I think classics TV or old seasons might have all caps in subtitles.

What's the HD quality of these streaming services? How does it compare to Sky HD? I assume it's nowhere near the quality does to bandwidth? Is it more like iPlayer HD?

Whats the score with the facebook integration, I don't want all the films my Mrs is watching with the kid popping up on my feed while I'm at work.

What is it under on the PS3? I can't find it, did a search too and that didn't work :s

It is not appearing on mine either - for whatever reason.

Watching Mighty Boosh on the PS3 right now. This kinda makes Lovefilm look awful, if it wasn't for game rentals I would have dropped it already.

Hmm, I've been meaning to give Breaking Bad another shot, so perhaps I'll sign up for a trial and spend a month marathoning it...

Does anyone know if there is a general rule of thumb for netflix in relation to new releases? Are we talking 6 months after DVD release for example?

The streaming is so much better than lovefilm, not just the quality but the reliability it's night and day. I have a 3Mbps connection and lovefilm is really temperamental and shoddy quality.

Played some stuff on the ipad and quality seems good, iPhone 4 looks great. Can't wait to see what it looks like on PS3 / Xbox.
Whilst the content of the films looks a little bit old in the tooth, there is still some good stuff to stream. It's worth signing up go try for a month at least.

Signed up for the trial, can't say I'm much of a fan of the xbox interface though.

I hope the Netflix iPad app appears on the UK appstore soon

It's out! I have had it for the past hour or so. When I signed up on my iPad it gave me the link and it opened it up on the app store.

Nice. I'll install the 360 version as well and can swap between that and the PS3 one.

Avoided Lovefilm even with the 'free trail' as i head it was a nightmare to cancel the service.

How many devices can you have this on? and at once?

I have:

Two 360s
A PS3
PCs & Mac
Two iPhones (me & The Mrs)
A iPad
and a Android Tablet.

Does it do the thing where streaming picks up where you left off if you watch the programme/film on another device?

Yes. It knows where you stopped mid show, and I believe my iPad wants me to watch episode 3 of The Office (I watched Ep 01 and 02 on 360)

Yeah I got it, thanks.

Working really nice atm, why did this service take so long to get here!

Yeah picking up where you left is awesome.

Loaded Chitty Chitty Bang BAng on 360, came upstairs and was alerted to being mid view and resumed where I left it then closed that and tried the iPhone app and same again.

It's awesome and in quality shits all ovr LoveFilm to, their compressing is horrible and looks so grey on the 360.

For those on Bandwidth Caps, there is an option on the website that will limit your video quality across all devices. It is under the Your Account & Help section on the top right

- Good quality (up to 0.3 GB per hour)
- Better quality (up to 0.7 GB per hour)
- Best quality (up to 1 GB per hour, or up to 2.3 GB per hour for HD)

...down to Good Quality I go!

Filled out the surveys & rated some stuff.

It's gave me some quality recommendations including a film I totally forgot about that I loved as a kid.

Explorers where kids have a flying sphere, it stars River Phoenix and Ethan Hawk too, man!
