Netflix now on Irish & UK PSN/XBL

If I use the Playmo DNS settings on my PC to watch the US Netflix, do I need to switch back to automatic (Sky) DNS settings before I buy stuff online (Steam for example) or watch iPlayer/Sky Player? Up to now I've always switched back before going to those sites, but if I don't need to then it'd save a bit of hassle.
 
Well I managed to get the us content on the ps3 in my room, but when I tried messing with dns on the one in our front room it didn't work and now that one won't connect to the internet at all. Ooops

Just change your DNS settings back to "Obtain DNS settings automatically" and it should work.
 
I can't seem to find the Aviator on Netflix when on 360, but it's on the website. I'm using DNS so shouldn't I be able to watch what's on the website on my360? or is it just a selection?
 
access to the us netflix is down again. :'(

does anyone know more dns addresses or if its down for service or something.
 
Can't get on again, just stuck on the red Netflix splash screen with the spinning circle.

Anyone else having problems? Tried both DNS settings and reinstalled a few times but it still doesn't work.

Wanna watch me some Friday night lights.

EDIT: Doesn't matter got it working again using the Playmo one.

It looks like it stops working at the start of each month, if it's the same problem as last month it should go back up in a couple of days.

I was in the middle of watching Cosmos. =/
 
I don't know where to ask this but can the Netflix app be controlled with a CEC (Bravia Sync, etc) enabled remote? It doesn't work with Amazon Instant Video.
 
Xbox title update has screwed this up for us UK users :( anyone know a way around the update? I doubt the UK content is worth the money.

Playmo say they will try to have it fixed today.

You can use the Unblock-us trial while waiting for that to be fixed, I am currently using the trial and Netflix if playing US content fine.

Was able to get it working again. Nothing will stop me from my Storage Wars fix.
 
Hey guys just noticed this thread.

I'm trying to access netflix US on my pc. How do I go about paying for it?

I'm trying playmo atm. do I change the settings on PC first then visit netflix?

I'm from Australia and currently pay for and use Quickflix.com.au which is quite good but wanna try netflix if I can.

For Playmo you need to change your DNS settings and then login into their site and verify your PC, then you can just go to Netflix and watch the US content.
 
So... The Unblock us thing has stopped working on my 360. Hasn't worked for a while (I tried it a few days/a week or so ago and every day since).
Is there any other free alternative?

EDIT: Tried the Playmo thing and works great.

It's not really, so hyperbole aside there's still plenty of good stuff on there. The lack of choice on the UK version can mostly be blamed on Sky having the exclusive rights to a ridiculous amount of films and TV shows. There's not really much that can be done about that, I'm afraid.

I really can't find much to love on there. The first 3 season of Scrubs? Nothing from Disney? Obscure budget animation you'd find in Poundland?

Breaking Bad? Prison Break? 24? Dexter? Heroes? Weeds? Firefly? Californication? etc.

The service has been available over here for just over three months. Were you expecting it to be brimming with content like the US one from the start?

Curious to know what the "obscure budget animation" is as well. Surely you're not talking about stuff like the excellent 90s Spider-Man and X-Men cartoons, as well as the good selection of Anime?
 
I'm actually using Netflix now (to watch something and not test) using Playmo and I can only get the lowest quality. Is using the Playmo DNS always like this, is it because I don't have an account for it or could it be the new router my dad installed to 'boost' the signal strength? I got great connection with Unblock us. (My 360 is wireless btw. I could try wired but I'd have to unplug from my PC).

EDIT: tired it wired and still low quality. No one else is using the net either.

EDIT2: hmm... turning the xbox off and on again seems to have changed it. I'm getting 3 bars now. Weird.
 
So I'm using the US service in the UK, quite well in fact. Happily working my through series such as Walking Dead and Next Generation. I'd like to the same with Buffy, but..

Well it only starts playing the final episode. When I hit "More Episodes", it's completely blank, despite it telling me that Netflix has all of them. The "bar" that would contain the episodes comes up higher than normal and it's just empty. I haven't seen it do this on any other show..

I've deleted everything on the console and redownloaded it all, but same thing.

Anyone else get this on Buffy? Or any other show?

I had an error the other day and changed it back to UK without really investigating. Hopefully a new set of DNS numbers will pop up sooner rather than later...

Does it just need a ds tweak or do you need to sign up for a proxy service/run something on a pc? Does the same trick work on an iPad?

You should still be able to access the UK PSN store and use PS+ right, as it's not geolocked except for maybe iplayer etc. and if you flip from manual to auto DNS, does it remember the settings for when you switch back? I think the proxy server does remember.
 
Oh hai, i need a little help.

My cousin has a PAL ps3. He has a Netflix account in my country. We do not live in PAL territory.

He just tried to download the Netflix app for the PS3. Said he only saw it "for PSVita"

Is the Netflix app for PAL regions active? Can we make it work?
