Netflix self advertising, I think it's ridiculous

I've not seen the ads in question but I believe what the OP is referring to is an ident, short for station identification. If you've ever watched the BBC in the UK you'll know exactly what I mean, but they're also common among pretty much every station in shorter forms. It's just a form of self-advertising to keep their brand awareness pumped.

Ok, I'm bumping this because I just saw another Ad.

I'm sitting down to watch the Faculty with my gf. I didn't get a picture because she hit X and skipped the ad before I had a chance to get my camera.

The ad was for Hemlock Grove, it was a trailer for it.

I'll try harder to get a picture next time. But, yes, Netflix does this now.

I've had Hemlock Grove ads back when it first came out, but it was queued up after I watched something rather than when I started it.

Welp, if Netflix is gonna start showing ads then good bye subscription. I refuse to enable this. Time to pour a 40 out in remembrance to the good times

I got the HG ad before Tucker & Dale vs. Evil when I watched it the other day on my PS3. More power to them for trying to promote their original programming as long as they give us the option to instantly skip it and they don't go any further with advertising anything else.

If you watch US Kitchen Nightmares, at some point there is an ad for Ramsey's DS game. It's pretty funny, it must have been part of the show.

I haven't read the posts in this thread, but fuck you if you are rallying against netflix.

the only time I've seen against Netflix advertising is in this thread. So I think you failed. So tell netflix this viral advertising doesn't work.,,,just get a AD another season of AD online.

I can understand when it gets Hulu level overbearing, but I've always found the way some people freak out over any advertising very odd. I almost feel like it's an age thing, though that's just a guess.
