I heard scandinavian countries have Friends on their Netflix?
Anyone know? Hook a brother up!
Also, coupled with unblock.us or Hola! (which I use), Netflix is worth every penny. Currently watching all of the X-files on US netflix. It's great.
I wish there was an incredible website covering all of Netflix catalogue across regions, with proper organisation, genres, ratings, even some mild curation and suggestions etc.
I've always had Unblock-us (since my country doesn't even have its own version of Netflix) and I feel like I don't give it the proper use.
John Carter, Pacific Rim, and Minority Report? AwesomeHere's a idea of what other non US netflix have. This is Norway.

Unlock the full power of Netflix.
Which it does, it will not work with these services and will allways use the Google DNS servers.
Can you change it on the router itself?I'm a bit PISSED that you can't change the DNS servers on the Roku 3, just found out today.
It's also hardcoded to point to Google's DNS.
What the hell.
I'm not in a position to try it myself for now, but I think it's not possible due to being a 4G LTE router or so I've read. Can you change it on the router itself?
Netflix is competing with far more streaming services than they once were - services that are also anxious to ink exclusivity deals with major studios.
You can't really pick a single streaming service and use it exclusively these days. If you try, you're bound to be disappointed.
It's not the competition, which is okay, as much as grabbing exclusivity deals, which is annoying. So what you're saying is that in this case, competition is bad
I wish you could set the categories that are visible, as I have no use for family flicks, sports, or local films. Whereas I certainly would have use for random picks, watch it again (featuring those I've rated 4 and 5 stars), and recently added/new releases, which are often absent nowadays.
Complained about it earlier, but absolutely. I don't understand how Netflix didn't realize that their system stops showing you major movie categories, and things you'd think that would be permanent fixtures like "Recently Added" . Just because I haven't watched a horror movie on this account doesn't it should not show me the category altogether.
Uhhh, no. That wasn't what I was saying at all.So what you're saying is that in this case, competition is bad

There's a feedback loop that the system creates. You watch a few movies, it personalizes your account and shows you what it thinks you'll like. You watch some of those movies, and it subcategorizes again. But after a while, types of content it thinks you don't like won't get displayed. And since its not displayed, you don't watch it (because you don't know its there), so it keeps thinking you don't like category, so it keeps not showing you that content. Eventually your account only shows a fraction of what Netflix has to offer. I wonder how much money was spent on getting the rights to show How I Met Your Mother on Canadian Netflix, because I didn't even know it was on Netflix until I created a fresh account and saw it under "New Releases", a category I hadn't seen in ages.
I've found the Netflix interface and recommendation engine to be absolutely terrible. I often have the same movie or show recommended across multiple categories. Amazon isn't much better though, in fact I think it's worse. I still wish Vudu offered an option for unlimited streaming or X streams per month because I think they are bar none the best option for movies.
I just stick with TV shows now instead of movies. Might watch a new release every now and then, but the movie selection is pretty awful. TV shows are where it's at.
Thanks. Just added it to my queue.I love that special. I've watched it a few times. John Mulaney is easily one of my favorite comedians right now. He's a funny man with clever material and great delivery.
I've seen the trailer for his new sitcom and I agree it doesn't look great. I heard nothing but great things about the pilot, so I sort of expected quite a bit more from that trailer. It had funny parts, but was mostly a bit too... hammy? Over the top? Forced?
I'm reserving judgement because of my love for his standup and the good word of mouth the pilot had, but I wasn't enthused by the trailer. Good news is that it means it's not too indicative of the quality of his standup special. I'd highly recommend checking out New in Town.
