New 3DS or New 3DS XL?

The thing is, I think Nintendo knows what they are doing, saving the faceplates for only one model. They know certain markets like Anerica pride that shit.

You know if they release a iphone that had swap out faceplates people would DESTROY those sales.
 
curious if the new 3ds will solve the problem i have with the XL, which is that it's super shitty playing 2d platformers that utilize the L button. (shantae)

left hand is always in an uncomfortable position because of the stretch.

the New XL is basically exactly the same in terms of ergonomics as the original XL. If you have an issue with the XL as it is, the New XL isn't going to change a thing.

the New 3DS regular shouldn't have that issue though - I can't say for sure as I only have the XL.

I'm no expert but I don't think that's the reason. Europe has a multitude of different power adapters and separating them from the console itself was probably a decision that made inventory management much more simple. Given that they already have to manage the SKUs of multiple regions due to the region locking, multiplying the complexity by 4 or 5, which I think is the number of different power plugs in Europe, is just a bad idea in general but then again... I think it's really shitty that an uninformed customer can buy a new 3DS, get home and not be able to play, just as it was shitty for people to buy 360/PS3 consoles and not have HDMI cables to plug them to their TV.
 
I'm going with the XL.

I couldn't give a shit about face plates. One less thing to waste money on. I'll be using the system to play games, and I won't even be able to see the faceplates while I'm using the system.

I need the bigger screen and general size. The OG 3DS gave me hand cramps and I've since gotten used to the XL screen size. The pixel density argument doesn't hold much water with me because both screens have awful resolutions. The IQ is terrible on both, but at least I can see everything much easier on the XL.

It's a no-brainer for me.
 
I was already going to go with the smaller one even if there were better features on the XL.
The faceplates and whatnot are just icing.

Off-topic but I don't assume the n3DS is CPP capable is it? The c-stick just isn't a suitable substitute for KIU.
 
I went from a 3DS XL to a new 3DS - I don't regret it at all, since the screen size of the n3DS is still big enough for me.

If a special edition Majora's Mask n3DS XL comes out though, I'll be getting that. ;_;
 
New 3DS all the way

the 3DS is a bit too small and the 3DS XL is way too big for me. the New 3DS seems just right. also those Super Famicom buttons and faceplates.....oh yes.

easy choice for me
 
I'm going with the XL. I don't care much for the face plates tbh. I really do like the reg white 3ds with those colored buttons. I wish they also made that version on XL.
 
I spent a lot of time debating this subject, but then realized that I'm a 39 year old man who does not need to show my friends my cute boo glow in the dark faceplate or feel how soft my plush Mario faceplate feels.

Let's be realistic here, Mr. Magoo needs the XL.

The screen doesn't look that much bigger, but you do make a good point about not showing it off. I'll probably go XL.
 
Personally I very much dislike the loss in image quality with the XL (I own both) so I'm definitely going with the regular New 3DS.
 
I'm going for the New 3DS. I have 2 XLs and although I do like the size, I need something more portable when I'm traveling. The New 3DS can fit in my pocket or bag for when I am commuting. In addition, that glow in the dark Boo is awesome.
 
Probably XL for me.

Been thinking about this for some time, as my CIB Link Between Worlds XL is about to get sent to "InfiniteCombo's Retirement Home for Video Game Platforms" (also known as my closet). I've been wanting to get the New 3DS so I can play the titles in proper 3D, since the 3D stability in the OG systems blows.

The only reason I'd take regular N3DS is for the SNES button scheme (I don't give a crap about faceplates), but when I go to try them both out, I'll probably go for the XL. As it stands, even the OG XL gives me hand cramps after long playing sessions.
 
Both for me. Will get the n3DS at launch in Black and wait for a limited edition XL (hopefully Xenoblade of MM). I already imported the Monster Hunter 4G n3DS LL from Japan and it is pretty

Fair enough for Europe - it's one region in terms of hardware/software and all the necessary langauges are there at setup no matter where you buy it, so different plugs are the only major bottleneck for redistributing stock around countries. But Japan only has one language and one power adapter standard... Seems to just literally be a case of "who in Japan hasn't bought a DS in the last X years? NO ONE" ^^

The regular looks alright to me there actually. I'm not so much concerned with faceplates and the such. I may get some if I got regular, but not a big deal either way.
 
I want an XL with colored buttons. : /

So I'll probably get an XL and wait until there are replacement buttons available from Nintendo or China, then make an edit.
 
problem i have with going XL besides lack of faceplates is that... it looks like a slightly modded old XL.


It's either gonna be get n3ds, or probably just stick with my old xl.
 
While I think I will miss the size, I think I am going to opt for the regular-sized edition of the n3DS going from a 3DSXL. I've always had a random affection for brown electronics and this faceplate against the white backing is a complete dealmaker for me:

My intuition is saying that Nintendo will roll out a special edition n3DS XL that I will want down the line that might have a color scheme I enjoy more-so then the Black and Metallic Blue, too.
