New Batman arcade driving game from Raw Thrills

Thread bumped, as Arcade Heroes has some bullshots up.

The last screenshot indicates that the Batmobile will transform into the Batwing at certain points during gameplay. Arcade Heroes also says that the game will go into wide release by November, so you might see one at a local family entertainment center while going home after picking up your PS4 or Xbox One.

Batmobile and Batwing? It really is sounding like the Sega CD games!

60s Batmobile?

Where do I sign?!!!

I think the only Raw Thrills games to get home ports so far are rather substandard versions of Crus'n and Target Terror for the Wii. Their games have improved considerably since then.

I mean, holy crap, H20verdrive is so frigging fun. Hell, when's the last time anybody was port begging for an arcade game, they really do make good shit.

NECRO BUMP
I actually got to play this today.....first off the most impressive thing about the cabinet is that it is a licensing miracle.... playable batmobiles include: original show, 1960s batman movie, animated series, brave and the bold, arkham asylum, batman 1989, batman forever, batman and robin, and the newest batman film...im sure im missing one but i was shocked how many there were
Sadly the only available batwing is the one from Dark Knight rises (booooooooooooo)

so actual gameplay was...hmmmm...not great....plays like pretty much every arcade racer except you have mounted guns you use to shoot other cars....and thats about it.... you drive around a Gotham that looks like every arcade racer city at night shooting goons of either bane, mr. freeze, or the joker...the city is 'open' in that you dont have to follow the green markers but everywhere looks the same so it doesnt matter too much

batwing gameplay is exactly the same as the car except you are hovering a few feet above the ground

so overall...not great....really hoping the new Arkham game will have batmobile skins...no idea if this was a one time thing, but if Arkham has even half the batmobiles available in this game ill be happy

yeah I played this at playdium a few weeks ago

couldn't believe the selection of batmobiles available but the game itself is booty

Played it at Dave and Busters. Godlike selection of Batmobiles, but the game itself is buttcheeks. Play for free and never play again.

Saw this at an arcade yesterday and was considering playing it but eventually decided to go for some Twilight Zone pinball instead, looks like I made the right choice.

Same sentiment as the two above. And it annoyed me that they made this big deal about being able to pick your Batmobile, so I picked the B:TAS one... and then in the second stage it just switches you to whatever Batplane they decided on, I think it was the Dark Knight one.

Edit: Er, the two above the two that just posted, although Wynnebeck works too.

I played this last april actually. Game is ass. Choosing the Batmobile is cool and everything, but the game is bad.

I played the game, I didn't really like it that much. Good graphics and presentation, but the game consisted of me shooting stuff and not much else. It then forced me into the TDKR batplane where I exploded near instantly. I did not continue.

Fun facts about this game - the President of the dev studio (Specular) & one of the main coders was also one of the original guys who made Hydro Thunder (arcade) wayyy back in the day - went on to co-found Swingin' Ape who made Metal Arms a super long time ago (I was on the dev team) and eventually got picked up by Blizzard to lead the 2nd iteration of Starcraft: Ghost; of course, that never released and he ultimately started Specular to make arcade machines once more.

I saw this game WIP a year ago when it was still called "Batmobile," I'm not much for arcade racers these days although I can think of plenty of things they could do in arcades to crank it up a notch.. hmmm..

I also played the game and like the rest of you guys, I wasn't all that impressed. It's really fun in a very shallow sort of way, but pretty easy and when I stopped playing it wasn't because I didn't want to spend more, but that I just got bored of it. The gameplay is just not varied enough. Maybe this game could shine if it got a fully realized port to consoles, but who knows.

Saw this at a local movie theater...replaced the 5 years too late Terminator Salvation shooting game. Didn't play it but watched the Promo reel...seeing all the Batmobiles was pretty cool.

I tried it at Playdium too...I didn't like how you would seemingly just take unavoidable shots for no reason and quickly moved onto something else.

that's interesting, I love Hydro Thunder.

Saw this at Dave & Busters on Sunday. Cabinet is amazing. Shame about the gameplay. Maybe a Sunsoft home port will save it.
