New Batman: Arkham City Interview And Screens

As someone who just recently finished AA, cannot wait. AA felt kind of small--I know it's a prison island so there aren't that many locations you can plausibly put there, but still. The promise of more of that, but bigger, is exactly what I want.

I wouldn't say any PS3 exclusive content is guaranteed. For the first game Sony had a deal with Eidos I believe, this time they're completely out of the picture.

There's just no way this won't be GOTY.

I would say that could very well be likely if it wasn't for Uncharted 3. 2009 was hard to decide which one was GOTY for me but Uncharted 2 just barely edged out Arkham Assylum. Either way, both were friggin fantastically amazing games, and the fact that we're going to get two games of the calibre this year is just going to make for an amazing November. Because really, if either one wins, we win period.

I guess no one complains about bullshots when it's a sequel to a popular game :). Looks great though!

So how far off were the original's bullshots? Didn't seem all that far...

So the Batman in Arkham City is Dick, then?

Right?

RIGHT?!

The new additions to combat sound insanely awesome. It was fun enough to get 100+ hit combos, now it's going to be on a whole nother level. Lets hope for a Sewer Bat Extreme+ style challenge room in this game.

The only serious complaint that i had with the first game was the end boss. If they come up with something that's really great to end the game on, then I'm happy. All the new additions sound fantastic.
My only complaint was that it ended :(
Such an awesome game.

I'm sure it'll be fine, but them adding to the combat system makes me nervous.

It was so amazing the last time I hope it's not convoluted/too complex.

What? Get off the forum and go play. One of my favorite games ever - no "comic-based" caveat required, either.

He speaks in truths. Arkham Asylum is great and I'm not even an avid reader of comics. However, if you happened to watch the Batman animated series in the '90s, you may get a slight nostalgia rush.

Oh, and the combat is so good.

Funny how a week ago this information would have seemed useless, but having now actually played AA I can't wait for this, day one :)

Still need to finish AA. Hoping I can do that before the release of B:AC (I assume that's the abbreviation we're using?)

Why is Quinn a hooker, I'm still trying to figure this out. Looks good though.
She looks more like a bar slut than a super villain in the first shot.

Am I the only one who found Harley sexier in her classic costume? The schoolgirl thing did nothing for me in the first, and the hooker one does nothing for me here.

I for one welcome this new sluttier Harley Quinn.
Its tough to get any sluttier than the first game's HQ... I'm having a hard time calling that version any less slutty than this new one.

Sounds really great. I had a very positive experience with the first game. I'm looking forward to the updated combat system in particular. Exploration will probably be a lot of fun too with such a big area to explore. Can't wait.

Couldn't have said it better. 2011 seems to be the year of good comic book video games?

First DC universe online, next marvel vs capcom 3 and to end the year Arkham City. SWEET!

Really?

Arkham City looks great, but I hope that the move to near-sandbox hasn't lost any of the Metroidvania-y focus the original had.

Wouldn't that just make it more like Metroid? The first game had that feel when you were searching for Riddler clues, but the main stories path was fairly linear.

I thought she looked a tease in the first, this time she looks proper dirty.

Also, on the latest GTTV, Geoff Keighley heavily hinted that (***Villain Spoiler***)
The Penguin
is in the game.
I thought that was implied by the first trailer.
The Iceberg Lounge
is in Arkham City. Other hints dropped by the first trailer are
a Sionis sign (Black Mask) and Two Face posters. I speculated that part of the game would deal with various crime bosses fighting each other with Batman in the middle.

You know what has me going batshit crazy? Knowing that the gameplay/experience is going to be TOP NOTCH just like the first and better.. If some of you haven't played the first do yourself a favor and fucking play it now.

This game is GOTY material out of the gate.

They went too far in the wrong direction with Harley, she still looked quite playful in AA, in this she flat out looks like a whore with clow-... oh wait, no clown makeup.

I won't let that bother me while I'm fapping, though.

Yeah I just finished my marathon of watching Batman: TAS last night

Holy damn Harley steals the show on so many occasions. Any of the episodes focusing on her are absolutely amazing.

She is also basically the only character that keeps the same design in season 4. Unless there is some really really really tiny difference that I missed.

so yeah whatever do hooker harley.

One of my most wanted games of 2011. Fucking hyped.
