New Batman: Arkham City Interview And Screens

the idea that you can explore the city but there is a very definite path to take is right up my alley. I always play the game for the main mode these days, mainly due to time restrictions.

The Croc section was utterly amazing. Loved it. The second time I did it again it lacked tension because I knew I could do it much faster, but the first time? Fucking tippy toe the entire way.

This was me as well.

Really, the Sequel had me at the end of the First Game. I was getting it day one. But the line "Our primary goal is to deliver the "Batman in Gotham" feeling" is OH GAWD YES. Exactly what I wanted.

This is going to be a great 12 months. This, Zelda, Dark Souls, The Last Guardian (maybe?!) and so many other games.

Now you all must know how I felt as I was patiently waiting for Batman: AA for over a year after seeing the intial media. :D

Also, someone mentioned Batman: TAS. Yes, that show was fantastic. I loved watching that and Spiderman: TAS, another awesome cartoon.

I cannot wait for this game any longer. Arkham Asylum is my favorite game of all time and this looks better in every way possible.

Really? My first time through I was zip lining the hell out of that section.

That seems the wrong way to play that section, though. Like using the cape to fly over whole levels in Super Mario World. I bought in to the concept and it got tense as hell.

oh wow I didn't even consider the zip-line.

what a damn cool game. the more I actually think back on it, the better it seems. I'm almost scared to replay it.

Don't get why so many people are complaining about Harley's look, then again I don't get why so many people love Harley so much. Never watched Batman: TAS, except for like 13-15 years ago, and that was way before Harley or Mark Hamill as the Joker.

I think the Arkham City Harley looks a lot better than AA Harley, hated her voice and the slutty nurse outfit, this one looks a lot better, and closer to the pictures of original Harley that I've seen, with the alternating black-red-red-black on the top and bottom, just with leather. Also the design for Catwoman is spot on, and smoking.

Hoping that we get to take down several gang bosses in the game, The Penguin, Black Mask, Two-Face etc, and as someone else in the thread said, hope they go the mobster-Penguin route, instead of the stupid Tim Burton route.

Loved Batman: AA, really came out of nowhere as an awesome game that had great mechanics, great story-telling, good graphics and used the Batman license extremely well.

???

Hamill was always the Joker and Harley has been around since like the 7th or 8th episode.

Mark Hamil has been the voice for Joker since the very first episode, and people love Harley because she was born on TAS and became a character in the comics through it. (And she has been part of TAS since the very beginning episodes)

Haha, same here. Until I ran into Croc and couldn't act quick enough due to being so scared; then I decided to use the zip line only when I was certain he wasn't going to show up out of nowhere.

Never saw Harley, though I never watched that much Batman since I was too lazy to get up at 6:00 AM-ish on a weekend when the show was on, and I didn't know when Mark Hamill became the Joker, since it was in a swedish dub.

So they like her cause she started on the show and moved into the comics, I know about that, but that's really the reason for all the Harley love? I guess I just don't get it, so many other better Batman villains.

I thought the Croc section was so ridiculously easy that it didn't really bother me. I kinda dug it, actually.
Croc section was ok, but they way they build him up over the course of the game, only for it to be a tippy-toe, don't disturb the poop-water, and just hitting him once with a batarang whenever he jumped up. It was tense at first and I was sneaking along reeeeally slowly, only to realize that if he did jump up all I had to do was whack him once in the face in the batarang (as Yahtzee described it, like hitting a dog on the nose with a rolled up newspaper) to send him back down into the water. Kinda lame after all that build-up. The chase bit at the end was pretty good though, more of a "oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck run run run"-moment.

I snuck for most of the first part of that section, but after you hade to zipline to get across a gap in the water, I just kept on using that instead of sneaking.

i wish they changed up batman's look. also, they don't seem to have improved the graphics that much :(

i'll wait and see, i'm not hyped enough to buy it yet, i'll wait for gameplay videos

AA - GOTY 2009
AC - GOTY 2011

But you're a Deus Ex fan!

God-damn so hyped for this though. Had the PS3 version of Arkham.

Does anybody know if MotioninJoy (PS3 controller on PC) worked fine with Arkham Asylum on PC? I might end up picking up Arkham City on pc instead of ps3.

I recently replayed it on the PC (if you have a card capable of doing the physx stuff, use it. it adds a lot to the atmosphere). I actually liked it more playing it now. The only thing that stands out is how structured it is, but it did for me the first time too.

and I wonder if they will let you do Just Cause 2 gliding+grappling in this
