Release date...stat.

Game came out of nowhere and actually inspired me to go back and play the original Bionic Commando.

At first I didn't like his hair. But then I saw some video and the way it animates when he runs and swings is pretty awesome.

Name me one mistake Capcom did this gen.

I dare you, I double dare you motherfuckers.
A quick shoddy port of Lost Planet PS3.etc There plenty of reasons I can list out but I don't want any trouble.

And that too.

I swear this really looks like the same engine powering Capcom's other recent games.

Speaking of which, I found Lost Planet PC for $7.48 yesterday and decided to give it a shot. I didn't really care for it much on 360, but with mouse aiming and 60 fps, the game feels a lot better. Outside of Crysis, I'd say that Lost Planet just might be one of the most impressive PC showcases to date. It uses fantastic object motion blur (similar to Crysis), but runs at a perfect 60 fps on my machine so it looks even smoother. Beautiful game. It was MADE for mouse aiming, though. I always felt the gunplay was terrible on 360 due to lack of impact, but with pinpoint accuracy of the mouse, it actually feels good.

It's like the opposite of Halo (which feels better on a pad to me)...

Thats not capcom's fault that people don't know what games are good.

It is when they fail to marklet it and make a game as confused as Z&W. Too hard for younger gamers yet va and story elements aimed squarely at that younger audience.

Z&W:2 with more story, less annoying VA, more great puzzles and proper marketing would do so so so much better.

Bionic Commando looks great, is this coming out for PC like most of Capcoms next gen games?
What is the lead development platform? I had heard that DMC4 might be being developed on the PC? Based on the build that Shane and the other 1up crew played? That would be great for us PC games.

EDIT: Yes to PC as someone already answered above. Cheers.

PC supremacy yet again rears it's beatiful head!

In DMC4 the lead platform is PS3. It's being developed in the multiplatform MT Framework engine, but at first the project was thinked as a PS3 exclusive.
Both DMC4 and Bionic Commando will be released in PS3, X360 and PC.
Bionic Commando is being developer by the swedish Grin, don't know what's the lead platform. They use another engine, and as they're more experienced in PC, I supouse it would be the lead platform.

If you download the latest patches, you'll see more enhacements in the Direct X 10 version.

I haven't tried the DX10 version just yet, to be honest, but I might have to give it a go later on. How is the performance in DX10 mode? Crysis kind of scared me away from DX10 for the moment. :P LP runs at a rock solid 60 fps in DX9 mode with all settings cranked (though I limited AA to 2x). I'd imagine DX10 would kill that framerate.

These pics are mostly from october's game reveal, and others where released in early december. I don't see new screens here.

And McValdemar, I see every topic you open is for linking images from the same forum, instead of putting them directly here (these are all from capcom's site, why don't you just link the source?) . Is it your site? I think plugging isn't admitted around here, at least doing only that.

I hope they put in some hidden extra skin that makes you look more like Radd from the NES game - green fatigues, spiky red hair, sunglasses and a dainty little bionic arm. ARE YOU READING THIS, GRIN?

What engine is this running on? Modified Dead Rising / Lost Planet, or something else?

Lost Planet engine?
Why do people keep saying this? It's an engine made by the developer Grin from the ground up. They're Swedish, it'd be practically impossible for them to build a game using Japanese tools.

Listen to the friggin Bionic Commando Podcast people!

Because all Capcom games are using the same engine, all current-gen ones at least.

I'm not sure why they couldn't translate their engine instead of building a new one for Bionic Commando, that makes no sense.

They said that Capcom's in-house engine couldn't handle this game's physics elements.

GRIN has kind of made a name for itself based on its tech though. Going back to Ballistics, that was a showcase for the Geforce 3, and GRAW for PC was one of the first games to utilize the PhysX hardware. I think they know what the game needs.

am i like the only one that does not like the way the environments look so far? everything seems so freaking drab.

Lost Planet, but that wasn't a mistake so much as disappointing.

Having Mike Patton in Bionic Commando, however, forgives all. Even if the game sucks, Bionic Commando wins hard.

I still don't understand the dreadlocks if he's spossed to be the original BC guy. I would have preferred the traditional "white guy" (lack of a better term) hair cut on the bottom row, or even the Kazuya brush back look, like he had in the original (I believe). I'm just so, so, very happy they didn't go with the redneck stache and cowlick dew. Thank you Capcom (and that other company), Eddie Gordo will do just fine.
