New Civ 6 screenshots

Looks really good. Where are these pics taken (url)?
I guess its time to upgrade my laptop to new when CIV 6 releases.

Edit: Thanks @Spiritfox

Do we know anything about what actual civs will be playable? I haven't been able to find this info anywhere (other than some details on USA).

I'm not being funny, but it looks exactly like Civ V to me.

Love the colours, but I agree that the forests need to be denser, as they create too much visual noice atm and destroy the map's readability.

Can't wait to play it. De-stacking the Cities sounds like such a great idea.

Still not big on how it looks zoomed in, but zoomed way out (which is how it's going to mostly be played) it looks fine.

still looks terrible. the artsy direction seems to be trying to be blizzard and failing hard in the process.

There's no screens with unit icons, hex grid or the like turned on is there? I do like the unrevealed map, rest is unoffensive, graphics is at the bottom of priorities in a Civilization game anyway.

suck it, "this looks like a crappy mobile game" haters.

It definitely doesn't look like a mobile game but it also doesn't differentiate itself too much from the early entries of the series. The game needs a big change graphically imo. It just looks like they keep releasing expansions of the same game instead of a sequel at this point.

I mean it doesn't look like a mobile game. People saying that are just trying to hard to shit on the graphics. It definitely doesn't look as realistic(?) as Civ 5 but it does look nice. It looks different and that's not a bad thing.

The mountains bother me. That's it lol. I love the fog of war stuff though

They just keep improving the formula which in some ways doesnt consider the graphical improvements as much as some other games.

Civ V actually looks far cleaner when the camera is pulled back. It's easier to identify cities and landscapes. In the Civ VI image, everything seems to kind of just blend together.

I agree. Looks to be the forest's fault. Where cities distinguish themselves by individual, distinct buildings, they've too given that characteristic to the trees in 6; makes the whole scene look too busy, to be honest. Edit: Also good lord over-saturation. Not a fan.

The camera angle is different - the Civ VI screenshots has far more tiles in it due to that, so obviously it's less clear. Tiles are much smaller, especially in the back of the screen.

The tree models still look mobile game quality. They look awful and I can't tell if they are the only things holding the look back for me. I love the cloth map aesthetic they're going for and most everything else I think.

I love that the fog-of-war just looks like a blank parchment map until you see an area for the first time. Then when you move your vision away the map is filled in with the pencil drawings of trees or water or mountains as if your scouts were drawing it as they explored the wilderness. It's an awesome choice of art design.

It looks different, but not "6 years between release" better. It's more like a sidegrade.

Mind you, I don't really care that much about how it looks. I'm just wary after BE.

I'll buy because it's Civ, but V craps all over this new style. Even Rising tide looks a lot better (shitty UI aside).

Not gonna lie, I have a craving for the simplicity/brokenness of Civ 1 but I really can't stand the awfully-sluggish-by-today's-standards UI, even of the Windows version.
