(New Colin Moriarty Show) The Mysterious Third Amendment -- Colin's Last Stand

Can't believe Moriarty has been in front of the camera before. With how drab and unenthused his delivery is, this feels like his first time. That or he wants these videos to be wheeled into grade school classrooms.

I don't know, I expected something like The Great War youtube channel or whatever. I don't know who the audience is for this type of content. Stump summed it up better than I ever could with the least amount of bias.

Hes used to being being dragged into a conversation until its a topic that flares him up, Greg was the pull and now he doesn't have someone beside him anymore, Colin Was Right was more interesting then this.

FORTY THOUSAND UNITED STATES DOLLARS

This might have been one of the most boring video I have ever watched on any United States history base topic. Reading about it myself back in high school was more interesting.

Ive seen better first year TA lectures at community college. You'd think he'd have the whole "speaking on camera about a subject" thing down by now

'Tis what happens when you realize the emperor has no clothes. Good thing he once talked about video games, because now he will have a cult following to support him for a long while.

He keeps stressing that he doesn't care so much about video quality and how the show looks. He wants content to be king. But the quality of his video is distracting from his content. If the video is so unimportant he should just do an audio podcast.

Also his content sucks too

It's amazing what Danny achieves with $20,000, and how Colin with his 40K can't even match obscure YouTube channels that make no money. Hopefully he steps it up

Really excited by the clip of the next episode. Fingers crossed for a book report on the Euthyphro!

It's awkward how quickly he gets out of breath when he's talking. When Colin spews hot hair, he really spews hot air, if you know what I'm saying.

I'm looking forward to his puff piece on laissez-faire economics and scathing critique of Adam Smith's freedom-hating ideals. And im hoping he says everything really fast and monotone again as well. One critique though, he really needs to switch the recording mode to SP and maybe upgrade to the Sony tapes, would produce a much cleaner picture

forty thousand dollars for something that I could film with my galaxy 6.

why videos? if he wanted to do something interesting he'd do a podcast with a leftist. i'd watch that.

WTF? This guy is making $40K a month, $10K more than his old crew at Kindafunny, for this?? I'm in awe. Good hustle, Colin.

That 40k a month really blows my mind. Especially at how amateur the final product looks. Dude is laughing all the way to the bank. Probably won't last though.

The smugness. Can you feel it? Can. You. Feel. It?

Fascinating that a topic about morality vis a vis Athieism vs Religious belief (which should basically be a 5 second video) becomes really an exaltation of how moral he personally is.

Also why is he sitting sideways?

The intro and credits graphics are awful.

Dude, that's some Windows Movie Maker level shit.

At least he has a microphone.

To be fair about the 40k, he never really asked for that much, not his problem that people paid him.

That being said, this is embarassing for $100 a month.

And people gave Anita Sarkeesian endless shit over the budget for the Tropes vs Women series and yet from her first episode she was using 1) professional lighting equipment and 2) didn't sit in front of bookshelves of half empty liquor bottles while she spoke about her topics.

Not that I don't think Anita did good work but it's really not a fair comparison. Wasn't an early complaint that Tropes was delayed for a very long time? I don't know how Patreon works but how long did Colin even have the money to spend?

Patreon started for CLS on the 20th of March it seems ~ http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1353943

Although it's no surprise that topic was closed for a lot of the same posting about money in here. It'll come down a bit over time, but ultimately people earn whatever people want to pay. In saying that I would expect better equipment and production fairly quickly. You kind of have to bringing in anything 10k+. Even JS has a pretty simple setup, but production is decent and audio/video good quality. You don't earn your money daily though, IIRC patreon is monthly paying out is it not? Meaning to spend decent $ from what you're earning you really need a few months.

Mildly more interested to see Episode 2 than what I've just skimmed over. However, I'm an atheist so I always enjoy debating/arguing with fellow atheists.

He carved out this safe space for himself because he couldn't stand being challenged on his views. He barely survived Aisha Tyler to begin with.

One thought I've had in my mind is that I think he should have done what Danny did, which is to take the time for the content to be good. He should have had a solid plan and all the equipment, he should have tried pitching his content to the Patron supporters and allow them to pick a format that works (I think he did something like that for Colin was Right). This just seems super rushed. Like what, it's been 2-3 weeks since he left Kinda Funny? Everything he's doing so far seems so low budget that it is like you guys are saying, it's distracting me from actually paying attention to the content. If I'm gonna sit in front of your video for 20-40mins it better be entertaining and easy on the eyes.

I wish him the best of luck, but he really needs to curate his content. He has the camera experience and financial backing to do a lot more and a lot better.

This really is a joke for $40,000 a month. Hopefully his backers see that too.
I bet a bunch of those backers are giving him money to make a political statement, the product being subpar might not be enough to get them to stop donating.

Collin gimme half that 40 grand you're getting a month and I'll at least put you together a decent set and get you some better editing and camera work. Shit I'll write a better essay for you to read if you want.
