New Danganronpa V3 featured in Famitsu this week

Also, DRV3 will focus on 'lies' and the trailer ends by asking if you can make use of them. Aims to take place in a "super/psycho-cool" school this time. (They write サイコクール, where サイコ is nearly 最高, but is also just "psycho".)

Famitsu goes a bit further on the "lies" thing in their article and says the trials this time will rely on lying to take down your opponent's arguments. One of the screens has someone accusing someone else of bluffing, so I guess we've got our new strategy to go along with contradicting and supporting evidence...!

(This could actually be a really cool addition if done right.)

I bet the anime is a prequel sorta thing, so a big time skip confirmed.

Familiar faces.
Finally they acknowledge Asahina exists.

I'm always on board for more Kirigiri. <3

New girl doesn't give me instant
Monaca
vibes like most of you in the thread. Curious. Like someone said, and as much as I enjoy the art style, these games suffer from a bad case of sameface, so it could just as well be a new character tbh.

The lighting is off or something on that "green" hair girl. She's the same character as this:

So unless Monaca also dyes her hair too...

I'm still sad that they skipped making 2 into an anime. I was REALLY looking forward in seeing that animated!

So is it actually confirmed if Cyborg Raiden is, at face value, supposed to be the main protag, or is this based entirely on assumptions and craziness.

Who can we trust in these times of madness and despair.

Well, Kodaka says DR3 will use tricks "only possible in anime", so maybe they'll build on some of the themes in DR2 indirectly that way.

Seems that's about it. Working on a new thread now.

I am convinced that that is not Monaca. Which is cool. Dunno about that protagonist, though.

That picture's probably why I didn't think of her, yeah. She looks like the lovechild of Celes/Kirigiri/Sayaka to me, heheh.

This sounds very interesting.

Holy shit I wasn't expecting an original anime. Actually very excited for that because I'd have no faith in a DR2 adaptation at all...

I'm glad they're doing some kind of animated continuation of the
Hope's Peak
lot. Seeing as the story isn't from a game I actually have hopes for the anime not being awful.

I'm interested in how V3 will be linked to Danganronpa in general. And I'm really hoping 'Cyborg Naegi' ends up being the protagonist.

Made the thread.

I'm totally fine with the "Hope's Peak saga" closing out in an anime so that V3 has the room to be its own thing. It's now more believable that V3 will truly be a "New" story with the news of DR3.
