New Darkness interview, 6 minutes of footage

It looks really cooll... but could seem kidna scripted? Like when that car flies over the chase in the tunnel I was like "woah, cool", but then i bet that would happen on every single playthrough.

Nothing major, definitly gives the game a sweet movie-like feel.

I wasn't impressed with their previous videos but now this looks pretty great. Good source material and a good developer. I'll at least rent it.

Same, and the voice acting seems really good.

Crap. Still at work...

Any word on whether the game's gonna allow you to freeroam? Or is it gonna be a linear shooter?

In the interview he said that you could free roam. You can use the subway to travel to other parts of the city.

I don't know how they can put so much effort into the environment, yet not bother to make the guns or hands look good.

Not too long until release, been interested in this bad boy since I was doused with Red Bull at the Take Two area of the Business Center in Leipzig Messe.

The game looks pretty cool and seems to be the first FPS in years that's trying to break new ground in the genre. Graphics are a little meh for me though, even moreso with that itchy framerate.

I'm not really a fan of games that are almost perpetually in the dark but I have a feeling that the story and narrative will probably have me buy the game anyway.

It's ****ing stupid how GAF doesn't like a good, solid, different FPS when one smacks them in the face.

23 freaking post? Sheesh GAF. This game looks lovely. Great atmosphere. And will be a day one purchase for me.

I still hate the way he holds the two pistols.

It's sad but that's really stopping me liking this game...

I dont think its trivial. When the first media was making the rounds for this, I thought they looked kinda jank as well (like being to far apart or something)....but then i got to see them in motion and how dynamic they were, and I really appreciate it now.

.....anyone else love how you can actually have TWO DIFFERENT weapons at the same time....seems like such a rarity when FPSes do this...

I'll be there on day one.

Yeah I hated the hands too but now I've seen a couple of vids I hope more FPS' use this style instead of static hands.

Everybody is saying this and it's true. Even jetstevens said more FPS' would do this in the future.

I love it.

Me too.

When he is moving the gun in his right hand to aim past the dumpster that is blocking his aim is just brilliant.

And who is jetstevens?

Edit : I also wanted to ask if there was a demo planned before release?

He works for the company that put together the package of the IP, studio and whatnot and sold it to 2K Games or something like that.

edit: and the original game design concept.

Sweet stuff. God, I really want Starbreeze to make a sequel to Riddick now. The entire story arc for the proposed film series has to be out there. Such a shame the movie didn't do so well, as I enjoyed it for the popcorn sci-fi it was.

love the Riddick universe as well =(

....seriously...franchise is really underated

because it was so centralized to just butcher bay, the game's story actually seemed tighter, more focused, and--as a result--better than chronicles of riddick. it's actually not only a great movie license game, but is essentially a better movie.

It's really a shame this thread isn't any bigger, this is one of my most anticipated games of the year, looks absolutely incredible. Shame on you GAF.

The car sequence at the beginning of the interview was jaw dropping.

is this the one blim is always bringing up in darkness threads? :lol

havent seen th evideo yet, its currently downloading. i am hugely anticipating this game. i love starbreeze, the graphics look great (nice lighting, insane textures), and the gameplay looks completely fresh and awesome. oh, and those little critters and the gleefull gore they bring to the package is sweet as well.

this game might not have a ton of buzz around it now, but i guarentee it will be a relatively huge hit for 360 once its out and word of mouth carries it further
