new dead rising 3 gameplay footage

You're right of course. I try to keep the hope quiet and tell myself "No! Bad!!" whenever it springs up. Maybe Dead Rising 4. Every other title could be multiplatform!

Ah, whatever, I can live on without my beloved Dead Rising.

Just be hardcore like me and a large percentage of the idiots here at NeoGAF and buy every console. :) You get to play all the games, and you can even use the "both consoles defense" when people call you out on your fanboyisms too.

I will never forgive Sony for absolutely destroying SEGA in the wondrous Dreamcast era, but I will play their beautiful Playstation games. *tear*

Looks fun. Shame it's xbone exclusive. :(

No. The game wouldn't have been made, otherwise, just like Bayonetta 2. Be happy it's even in development.

WHAT?! just admit you're poor and cant afford to step into the next generation. dont spout this bs. "its gonna be too easy now" blah blah blah gfto

I've seen jack shit this generation to encourage me to think any dev is going to keep a balanced difficulty while removing features or moving them into alternative difficulty modes. Not to mention that the time limits, alternative endings, and challenge gave the first two a lot more replay value.

Am I supposed to forget all the shit that happened this gen and pretend that everything's going to be sunshine and rainbows while wasting $60 on a game? Fuck that! You can waste your money if you want to, but I know when a game is giving me bad vibes.

I don't have the money, or the time to make it worth my while. I barely get enough out of playing my PS3 these days. I just can't say yes because it has one game that I love.

Only because Capcpom is Capcpom. The other Dead Rising games sold well enough and deserved sequels funded by their proper publisher. I mean come on Capcom, why exist as a games publisher if you're going to go asking other companies to publish your games for you?

Looks like fun, but not $60 worth of fun.

This will be a quality purchase for $20 in a year when I buy an Xbone for Halo.

I know but... but.. but I'm never going to own xbox one :( Maybe we get it for pc some day :)

Ok, more port begging?

Just get an Xbox One when it's cheaper in a few years. Or hell... just buy the game to support the developers if you're that against MS.

BTW, I'm really digging the explosions in this game.

They probably looked at financial results of the previous two games and decided it wasn't worth it. They were hits, but not HUGE hits. Also, MS will market the shit out of this game and Capcom is broke these days.

I'd argue that it doesn't fit in Capcom's future vision of online connected games and that's why they were more than happy to let MS swoop in and lock this down if it meant they'd foot the development and promotional costs.

Now you have my attention DR3

Gonna be interesting if the only good exclusive launch game ends up being Dead Rising 3.

Forza is pretty much a shoe in for best racing game of the year. But if you are not into racing games I could see why you wouldn't include it. That being said, I still think its a better launch then the 360 had, especially with all the 3rd party stuff.

Hah I love that now that the game looks decent, everyone wants a port!

That's good. It shows that there's still some normal people out there. It would be more disturbing if a game genuinely appealed to someone's tastes, and they somehow didn't want a port. If you, for whatever reason, can't get the console it's on, or don't want to, then it's only natural as a gamer to desire a port. The people that I'll never understand are the ones that condition themselves into hating a game they would otherwise be interested in or want solely due to the console it's on.

There's no hope for them. :)

It's a shame that its not coming to PS4 also, it looks like it addresses my issues with prior games (I LOVED the original when it came out, but ended up getting frustrated with the time limit aspects in sequels)

Have to say though there are so many other cool zombie games.

State of Decay actually looks more interesting to me than this, I'm waiting on PC version since xbox 360 one is kinda rough technically.

Actually, the financials were good enough for the to buy the Blue Castle studio...

To be fair this is atleast the same team that made Dead Rising 2. I'll trust that they know what they're doing, they already had a lot of skepticism when they had to follow up DR1 and added more than one save file.

MS usually aren't so against PC releases of exclusive titles, so it might happen. I doubt it will, but there's always the remote possibility it might.
well, I am pretty sure that if during this generation they will not go as well as the last, they will be wanting to keep exclusives even from pc just to have more hooks for sales. (and take a page out of how sony acts about their exclusives)

I just can't stand this immature crap especially after TOLU...I guess a lot of people enjoy senseless bashing of 100s of brain dead zombies...oh well I guess different strokes for different folks

Grrr, so serious, not having fun, grrr.
(yes, people enjoy different things, people also enjoy both worlds)

Yeah, I can definitely see this happening. Would be a damn shame if it became the norm though.

So what you're saying is TLoU ruined gaming? Someone get Kotaku on the phone....

You want Dead Rising to be more serious? You're literally the only one saying this. Everyone else was worried it was moving into that territory.

So did they brighten this game up or did they just show off a really shitty area in the reveal? This looks a lot more colorful and classic Dead-Risingy.

Microsoft is still bad when it comes to such things, they are afraid of goofy and funny stuff in games so they choose a gritty part/demo.

Yeah, I can definitely see this happening. Would be a damn shame if it became the norm though.

But it already is the norm, it always has been, even in the original Xbox days. As I wrote earlier today in another tread:

Microsoft has published 61 retail game on Xbox 360, not counting those where they only served as a distributor in certain territories, and retail releases of XBLA games. Out of those, only 8 or 13.1% have ever appeared on PC or other home consoles: Gears of War, Viva Piñata, Mass Effect (the developer has subsequently been acquired by another publisher), Shadowrun, Ninja Gaiden 2 (a game contractually "borrowed" from another publisher, it later appeared on PS3 in a somewhat different form), Ninja Blade, Alan Wake and Fable III.

Now, I'm not going to go into XBLA games; the percentage is certainly higher there, but that's because Microsoft publishing a game on that platform doesn't usually mean that they also funded the development, as is normally the case with retail releases. Instead, it often serves as a stand-in for self-publishing, but now that self-publishing is finally coming to Xbox, I expect that percentage to diminish greatly.

The whole "most Xbox games come to PC eventually" notion is nothing but a myth perpetuated by those who are looking for ways to decrease the appeal of Xbox consoles, either in their own eyes or in others'.

Yea this totally echoes the Splinter Cell Blacklist E3 reveal with the desert action crap. Wasn't this at MS' presentation, too? They love their dudebro audience.

This new footage finally looks like Dead Rising again. Makes me hopeful (and wish for a PC port at some point).

well I am sure that if dead rising had only 4 zombies per case to slaughter, it would be more "serious" ;)

each game is what it is. appreciate or not, but if games where all the same, then this would be a dead hobby some 30 years ago.

I need this game in my life. Only looked at 7 minutes of it and stopped myself. Definitely the first game I'm getting.

Don't jude grahics or framerate by a shitty offscree Video. I will not believe nearly stable 30FPS until I Play the game mayself.

The whole MS publishing games on XBLA completely threw me. I realised moments after hitting reply, but by then it was too late.

Framerate issues can be seen in offscreen videos perfectly fine.

Yeah, plus it's pretty well documented that it has some serious frame-rate issues.

Probably the same ppl who think "console exclusive" is also a dirty word to find ways to avoid list wars not favoring their console of choice.
