NEW DQ:S (DQWii) pics

I'm very interested in finding out why we can see those two characters' health bars on the screen at once. Definitely much more psyched for this game than I was a week ago.

I think this means it is extremely likely that there will be co-op, now the question is just whether or not it will be online.

I suppose you could also do co-op play by yourself, with one remote in each hand to control each character.

Is anyone else more excited about this than DQ IX? I can't explain it, but I just want to play this with a drink in one hand and the remote in the other - and let all my problems wash away as I enter a world of fantasy and adventure from my childhood years...

It depends on how much effort they're putting into it. If it's just some side project ... no, but from these pics, it looks like it could be getting a lot of lovin' from Square-Enix.

I like the character designs a lot. They seem to fit the DQ mold, but are bit fresher.

Why not be equally excited for both games?

Well the only reason I am more excited for this one is that we know more info about it and it's coming out sooner.

It's a good time to be a Dragon Quest fan! (but not a graphics whore fan)

I was looking at the 2 character screen and the other guy has an MP bar while the main character has a sword percentage bar. Perhaps you can use the bishie guy in another mode and strictly use magic? (Then again, you could use magic in Kenshin DQ, so I dunno).

non-online (full screen, surely) co-op is very, very good.

does character art (or anything else) indicate that there's a party system in place for the single-player game?

Im excited about DQ rpgs in general, so N/A to me :)

Looks like the game got a graphics overhaul because it looks awesome now rather than just barely GC level.

Co-op doesn't seem that likely. Out of the 3 main characters shown, only two of them have voice actors, which seems to imply one silent protagonist that you play.

I imagine the game will have a system where you go from point 'A' to 'B', where then at point 'B' you can choose to 'C' or 'D', or return to 'A'. 'C' could be a town where you could watch a cutscene, level up in some shops, save, and maybe do a minigame or two. The game would be laid out like a spider-web network where you could choose different paths to different areas. You can go back to old paths, and with random enemy encounters and increasing difficulty, it would always be challenging and fun.

With co-op this game would SHINE.
