Antigua?! What? I've been to Antigua. I love Antigua. It's such an odd little paradise. You get to race there? DLC? I need to know! If I could re-visit it in digital form whenever I turn on my PS4 I'll buy anything they throw at me.

Oh, ey, and on topic: the gameplay looks great. Can't wait to play it.

Yeah they said this at E3 Day 2. Never heard about Antigua since. DLC, probably.

6 people per club, so we'll have dozens of GAF clubs.
Which has great potential for weekly GAF tournaments.
Stick all of GAF's racing finest in one club and we might just have a shot at the leaderboards too.
*Horrifying flashbacks to MGO SOS Brigade / Brigade Elite split*
I want in on competition =P

Rushy if you read this:
Please give some direct feed to blimblim asap so we have some quality video on gamersyde that does justice to the game.
The youtube compression kills it.

Let the game shine!

edit: alright, nvm. missed the last page lol

Right?

It's basically on par with that in Horizon and PGR4. I couldn't have asked for more, it's a dream come true...

Man, I'm so pumped for this. October is going to be amazing.

Damn. That's the exact style of cornering that's giving me hige PGR vibes.
Glued to the fucking road, G-forces out the ass, controls tighter than a vice grip.

It's all there, I just need to play it to confirm it.

Yup, huge PGR vibes. So much so, I'm planning to play PGR4 later.

Why would IGN pay for some timed exclusive coverage, then compress the shit out of it so that it doesn't showcase the game at all?

It's IGN. Nothing about their video player or how they handle exclusives makes sense.

I don't think they care so much about it the way we do. Every time they release "graphics comparison" videos with worse than youtube quality, it cracks me up.

Sense of speed fully intact. 60 fps hate overblown as expected.
Sense of speed? Can't say if it's the framerate but my first reaction was that this seems to move unusually slow for an arcade racer. I don't get it honestly, all the talk has been about this not being a sim racer but I don't know, it's very close to a sim racer as far as I can see in these videos, I miss some Nitros and crazy blur high speed effects or crazy drifting or something, it's way too stale and sounds way too tame with no angry motors or anything to go into the arcade racer category for me at least. Graphics looks awesome though, especially the lighting with the shadows cast by the head lights, it all looks very very realistic.

Tell me what happened to Bizarre Creations again?

Who gives a shit? Why should historical market activity affect what I like to play?

If someone makes a game that plays like a game I loved in the past then I'm happy. Just because MS messed up PGr4 and left it to die, and then moved on to open world stuff like lots of other publishers doesn't stop me from wanting another game like PGR.

I find open world racers can be dull, with meandering, soulless tracks designed to blast along in crazy fast supercars with hardly any challenge or need to memorise any of it. That is actually my biggest concern about driveclub, but hopefully the road layouts are designed well

My only fear is that racing cars like Zonda R aren't going to shit all over the road going super cars like Lamborghini, Ferrari, Venom GT etc and then see whole lobbies filled with only racing cars

Youtube compression is bad, but IGN Youtube takes it to a whole 'nother level.

I don't understand what the fuck they do to their videos, but official channel videos from Xbox and Playstation don't look this horrendous.

Well you can just set up lobbies to use specific cars. I'm pretty sure that was one of the ways to customise races.

If it's anything like PGR (or just about every racing game ever made) it'll have car classes.
Class E, D, C, B, A, and maybe S for the hypercars.

I can't imagine Driveclub being all that different. It would make no sense to be able to pick a Hyundai in a race versus a Zonda R.

Poked Rushy at Twitter. Hopefully we'll get an answer to this. This is the game changer. I need to be able to race in the caribbean. Antigua is such a lovely paradise community. The beaches and people there are awesome. I'd love to be able to revisit the beautiful vistas.

5 Locations - Chile, Norway, UK, India & Canada

11 Tracks in each of these locations, which will be a combination of point to point tracks, road circuits & race tracks. I am liking the information on locations and tracks.

No beach side driving, I'm sad.

Might just be these videos but the racing looks so dull. Reminds me a bit of the GT games in that respect where the controls are great, the time trial stuff is great but the racing is not. Compared to something like the PGR series or Split Second/Blur (the latter two a bit different) it doesn't look exciting.

I thought it was supposed to be a mix. Not a full on version of either a sim or an arcade racer.

This is the first time I see hands animation like that from cockpit view. More specifically, the way the driver rises the fingers from the wheel during turns from time to time. Nice touch. Wish the animation was smoother tho.

So if you recall, at the initial reveal of Driveclub at the PlayStation meeting 2013, there was talk and footage portraying a "true 1st person driving experience" that was "not cockpit view". I thought this would have been a great way to examine all of the detail in the cars and feel more immersed in the racing experience. Yet, I have not seen or heard anything else about it again. Has it been scrapped? Will there be something similar to this or Autovista to check out the cars up close?

They all look the same to them thats why

The environment detail during that dawn transition. It looks so fucking realistic!

The second half of the second vid cycles through the camera views. Around 1:40. The 1st person view you seek is there and it's low to the ground too. Looks awesome

Driveclub Morpheus edition?

It'll definitely have racing classes. No way will a bac mono be racing against a zonda r.

And I'm sure the zonda r will be in the same class as the venom gt. What the venom gt lacks in puer handling, it'll make up in flat out speed. (1300 hp)
