New DriveClub video shows day/night transition

Anyone else find the reflection, at night, on the driver side window kind of jarring because it's just static?

Updated OP

14: We are still working very hard to rectify the motionless birds you see in the footage. The flapping animations are currently under development and I assure you once we've added those in they'll look less like balloons. Thanks for your patience.

Actually, I don't know. I think this newest video, besides the aliasing on the car, looks really close to that reveal stuff.

Same. I was blown away with this video because they're actually getting close to the reveal footage. The IQ most likely won't be matched I'm confident that they'll nail everything else, either at launch or down the road.

Impersonating a dev. And I fell for it :P

It's in the OP.

I'll wait till official word then. But yea, I'm sold on this now. I want the full retail version.

Impressive. A few more.

Needles are missing on the side screen reflections and no real time navigation on the Audi display - no buy.

Downloaded the Gamersyde vid, watched it, came away pleasantly surprised. The game has come a decent way since E3. A few more whistles and bells, it might even err on the side of graphically impressive when I eventually play it.

It's a shame that both Driveclub and Forza 5 will have to be rushed for launch. Because both will obviously have to cut some corners for that.

I think there could be some really sick driving games on next-gen if devs are given a lot of time.

Anyone else notice the dashboard being reflected in the top left-hand window at night? I literally spent half the video looking at that, freaking beautiful.

A few jaggies and a lot of pop-in in that video though. Good to know they're working on getting that fixed, hopefully it's all sorted by launch. The beginning of the video was especially bad in those areas.
It looks cool but after the watching the video on Gamersyde it also looks like it doesn't reflect the small details like the needles or digital displays

Looks beauuuuuutiful

I think this game really shines in first person. Loved how it looked in those bits of the video..makes you appreciate all the things they have going on in the environment so much more

If they're correct in what people have been saying, and it's got real-time lighting, reflections, and shadows etc etc. The final build will probably account for all of that.

Joking, right? You seriously can't be this nitpicky.

Hell, read the OP if it bothers you that much. It mentions the balloons.

Lol yeah I'm just joking. Honestly I think the game looks amazing, especially for where it's at in development. Really looking forward to seeing it in its completed form.

Looks great, except for the aliasing on the car. Will hopefully be improved before launch, I trust Evolution.

However, I don't really understand this:

"Hopefully this will draw your eye away from the glitch with the car’s tyre smoke (which is missing) and excessive anti-aliasing on the Audi’s bevelled rear window frame"

"Excessive anti-aliasing"? Are they saying the opposite of what they mean?

You can see in this new build that it almost looks like CG compared to the Gamescom build:

Also notice the distance white lines on the road.

I still don't understand how they are aiming for 60 fps. If this game hits 60 fps, with this fidelity, and slightly better AA, it will be best looking arcade racer to come out at launch.

Rushy can you confirm that if at this stage it is still possible to hit 60?

What is rush about this game again?

Let's not go crazy, now.

I think you are reading too hard into what he's written, it looks incredible, better than anything Forza has on display for launch. The dynamic lights, incredibly rendered and detailed cars, and stunning environments are a notch above anything.

Forza still has dat 60 FPS though, but if Evo can pull some voodoo and get 60 FPS, Turn 10 needs to be shitting themselves.

This looks absolutely stunning. The environments, the lighting, the motion blur, the textures. Goddamn. Best looking racing game. They just need to sort out the aliasing on the car and it will be perfection.

Amazing footage. I can't wait to get home and download the higher quality footage. I like that they're not going overboard with lens flares and such (at least in this video). The environments, especially the lighting, looks really natural. I can't wait to see the final product.

I think he's right actually, the way the mountain in the back are lit up, and the way the light is appearing from around the corner gives this an extremely CG kinda vibe. In fact in that picture, the Car is the only thing that really strikes me as "unrealistic", and that's more because it's chase cam and that never really sits well with me.

Regardless of anything else, that lighting system is joocy as fuark.

Seriously, Evo need credit for what they've attempted here.

Youtube now has an 'original' setting. You might want to look at that.

It's quite lovely, but it definitely does not feel like a huge leap over stuff I've played on the PC and most of the improvements stem from art direction more than anything. Project CARS is still more detailed, for instance, though I find it less attractive while playing.

The lighting is just amazing...it truly looks like a next gen leap. Love the atmosphere it creates.

Also as others have said, it looks more CG like compared to GC build and looks more closer to those trailers (which still look few steps ahead). Hopefully by the release time we can get really close to those trailer with further AA and other effects.

Great job Evo!

Is there a reason why shadows seem to update every 3 sec.? Would be nicer if they move constantly when time of day is speed up like that.

The aliasing looks weird, can't put my finger on it. Is it possible the game is being rendered at 1920x900 and then being stretched or something like 1280x1080? Has anyone checked for this and confirmed 1080p?

Just checked out videos of PCars. Wow, it looks stunning. A clear generational leap from GT5 and FM5. Everything looks very clean, great detail on the cockpits and the lighting/shading is bang on.

Did anyone notice the shadow 'ticking' across the road as the sun was setting?
It wasn't a gradual smooth transition.

It's about 0.43 seconds into the video.

No way, that must be ruled by now.

There barely is any aliasing now.

Take this shot, I edited just two sections, the bottom of the rear window and the spoiler edge, notice how after this very quick edit, the entire image looks pretty much aliasing free.

That looks amazing. Love how the camera mimics how your head will react to the GeForce and whip. Absolutely amazing.

the one part I like DriveClub over those video was reflection of cockpit dash on your windshield . That touch makes it very realistic
