New Evangelion Movie teaser images

It also has the best soundtrack.
Rebuild 1 was mostly retreading the original and this included the music.
Rebuild 2 introduced a lot of "epic", fresh music which mirrors how the movie diverges from the show.
Rebuild 3 had a bit of an odd soundtrack, which left me disappointed at first, much like the movie.
3.0's OST is actually amazing. It's one of the things the movie nailed.

Okay I feel that I need to explain the terrible gibberish English. I shouldn't have to. But Khara failed, and I don't want to see people speculate and make jokes on bad English.

The first part of the poster says "A continuation, and then the conclusion." It's pretty obvious that it refers to how the next movie is assumed to be the last one. The second part of the poster is more vague and harder to translate elegantly without know the "secret" intended context, but I'll say it'll probably fit as "A mistake, and so we must oppose." This is Anno so I can't say I know exactly what it is intended to refer to, but the surface reading is very clearly meant to suggest that they are aware fans didn't like 3.0 and it could suggest a sort of redo or retcon.

But... you can (not) redo!

Some of the best tracks in 3.0 are straight up modern remixes of themes found in Nadia: Secret of Blue Water. Makes me wonder what a remake would be like.

It's okay if they're planning a retcon of the third movie. After all, they spent half of it talking about resetting things anyway.

Indeed, even if I didn't dislike 3.0.

But Beautiful World is much better anyway.
There's no comparison. Both versions of beautiful World are glorious.

Also, Q is a good movie. Rewatched yesterday the whole series and although it's worse than you can (not) advance (which is amazing) it's better than you are not alone.

Also, wouldn't the mistake be shinji almost destroying the World twice?

Attempting that only for it to not actually be an available option is part of what went wrong with 3.0 in the first place though. But I have suspected that maybe this will end with Shinji getting to do that for real this time, albeit likely with a (restored?) Rei and no SEELE strings attached.

After the original series, he made a series of alt-universe movies that retold the story but different. They start as a shallow caricature of the original and gradually diverge in a way that makes a mockery of everything the original stood for. Watch it if you want to see just how far Anno is willing to go in order to piss on his best work. Don't spoil anything!!

Fixed that for you.

Anno admitting one of the rebuilds was bad? B-but my friend told me everything was part of Anno's master plan and 4.0 will make sense of it all.

What an exageration. The original series is still there and it's not like the rebuild is making it noncanon.

Although i have my fair share of criticism of what the rebuild became with the third movie, i applaud him for having the guts to do something completely different, even if it didn't made much sense in the universe he was creating with the two movies before.

I've watched this scene Just a couple of minutes ago. I didn't remember being that long. The rebuild version is a bit too short though.

The Rebuild version wasn't even long enough to make you go "uh..." whereas the series version goes on so long you might wonder multiple times if something's happened to the cable/tape/DVD/magical hologram.

I was so enthusiastic when the first movie released 10 years ago, and so thrilled after I watched 2.0.

The disappointment that was 3.0 and the insane wait just made me lose interest in the project. They should have just outsourced it. I don't think a fourth movie could be an interesting conclusion when the only thing I really cares about is what happens during the time skip.

3.0+1.0 could always be some sort of combination of what happens before/after 3.0, but I highly doubt it.

i remember fast forwarding on the vcr for a good 5-6 seconds to get through the scene.

It wasnt until i got older until i realized what was going on.

I was so confused the first time I saw it lol.
Always had my vcr's remote on hand when watching that episode to fast forward that scene.

The ending was the only truly great part of the series. It was perfect.

Global extinction, humanity reduced to Adam and Eve redux, and Asuka looking at her only other option, with the "Kill me now" face.

Can you guys give me an idea of how many people work on these movies and how long they take when they're in full production?

Not sure about worker numbers, but it generally took approximately two to three years for the previous films between each of them.

The thing about this new one is that we don't know if they're still using what they had prepped 5 years ago or if they're just gonna start from scratch all over again.

I really liked 3.0, I'm in a minority, but the way it contrasts with the original, especially if they really are telling a cyclical story, was really interesting to me.
