New Famitsu Scores

Hooray, great score for Children of Mana after all.

Also nice for Uncharted Waters DS. Yikes at that Blade Dancer score, though. 26? Geez.

Hmmm, I guess it's back to looking good now. I'll still wait for better impressions (albeit, from a more reliable source), however, even Famitsu can't get it that wrong, well, most of the time. Anyhow, I'm back to looking forward to CoM again. :)

Duckroll ownage... again?

Seiken Densetsu DS: Children of Mana (NDS, Square Enix): 10 / 10 / 8 / 8 - (36/40)
Rockman Rockman (PSP, Capcom): 7 / 7 / 8 / 7 - (29/40)
Daikoukai Jidai IV: Rota Nova (NDS, Koei): 8 / 8 / 8 / 7 - (31/40)
Shunkan Puzz Loop (NDS, Nintendo): 8 / 8 / 7 / 8 - (31/40)

Yay for CoM.

I don't trust Rockman Rockman's score. Didn't they rate Maverick Hunter X low as well? That's still good ole classic Megaman fun so I'm still picking up Rockman Rockman.

Rota Nova better come over here and Puzzloop better be cheap.

I dont see any mention of PS2 tho..

30/40 is acceptable for me. I'm partial to the mana series. I've enjoyed all of them, particularly SD3. I just hope the series brings the battle system forward a bit soon. This was the biggest problem in Sword of Mana. The game was way too easy.

Synthesizer Patel gives as much credence to the words of Famitsu as he does to a PCM synthesizer without multi-sampled patch banks.

Which is to say NONE AT ALL!

Why do you obsess over the words of this Japanese magazine? They no more play the games that they "review" than a modern pop starlet plays the synthesizers giving her #1 Billboard Hit such a rich and voluminous backbeat. Just like a synthesizer, a game must be played by your own hands before you can decide its quality.

Don't worry it got a 36/40, rejoice! :)

why did you do that to us duckroll?

nevermind it, i'm happy to see the 36/40! puzzloop and uncharted waters also got decent scores.

I realize people want Famitsu to give their favorite games 10's but how the fuck is that score bad?

Some of y'all be ridiculous.

36/40 then? Great score and smart move from Square to release it the same day as the DS lite. This game could sell a lot.

Bournemouth disagrees.

Great scores for CoM but then again SoM scored well too.

If CoM really is good then it would be the first good Action RPG Square has ever developed.. Mana games have been average at best so far and their other games in the genre like Musashi and Kingdom Hearts are just horrible.

CHILDREN OF MANA DS - 10/10/8/8 (36/40):

Go going, but still

Devil Summoner Raidou vs Super Army - 7/8/7/8 (30/40)
Rockman Rockman - 7/7/8/7 (29/40)[/B]
007 From Russia with Love - 8/9/8/7 (32/40-BS)

Fuck You Famitsu !!

WTH @ the Rockman Rockman score.... what did they gave to Irregular Hunter X?

Famitsu enjoys playing with game company executives as if they were the keys of a well-worn synthesizer, willingly accepting cash monies in exchange for positive press.

Companies like Capcom, who refuse to provide the expected playola, may find their Cross Review scores strike a rather dissonant note!

Well it's a lot better than the 30 which caused a bit of a panic. We should have known better though, the review was far too early for it to receive a 30. :)

I love that Puzzloop score. It validates my future purchase of Magnetica (sp?).

And great news for Children of Mana!

...Although, who the fuck said that it got a low score? >:(

Two 10s and two 8s for CoM?

Odd disperity.

Any decent new leaks out of the magazine?

It's not really odd. It's Famitsu, it's SquareEnix, and the original mediocre Sword of Mana got a good score too if I remember correctly.

I hope it's good though, 'cause imho there hasn't been a good Mana game since SNES.

We still can't be sure if CoM is good though. Sword of Mana also got a good score from Famitsu. We need impressions dammit!
