New Final Fantasy XV screenshots

Should be ps4k exclusive. Would look better.

Should be PC exclusive would look way way better than ps4k and would even sell way way more....but besides this nosense, it looks pretty good, and it's not just about raw graphics, the art style, the vibe of the scene, something that only a Final Fantasy delivers like that, it's been a long wait but perhaps it's worth it

Titan's fingernails are pretty reasonably well-trimmed.

lol you mean pirated a lot more

Nope, you're wrong since Denuvo V3 and V4 DRM is around piracy is done on PC, for example all the latest games like Just Cause 3, Hitman, Rise Of The Tomb Raider, Unravel, Far Cry Primal etc use Denuvo and they haven't been cracked for months and likely won't be cracked in a while. Besides even when everygame was crackable Steam sales numbers were huge, for sure bigger than a newer expensive console like the PS4K which could sell at best 5 million in a year

Still absurd to think that FFXV would sell more on PC than on consoles....but its not coming to PC so lets end it there lol

what the hell is wrong with their hair? It already bothered me in the demo
it flickers and looks like stitches that got stuck together

is this the lack of Anti Aliasing??

Not enough AA. Hair is rendered like in Agni, so lots of thin lines they have to account for.

It's not AA, it's the way they tackle alpha transparency layers in the hair. Same thing in all the FXIII titles and MGSV - they used a dithered pattern for performance reasons to deal with transparency. Notice many Western games render hair using transparency but without these artefacts - The Witcher 3 as an example.

Edit: maybe I'm wrong? But AC: Syndicate renders hair as strands and doesn't have these issues. Also TressFX, HairWorks etc.

Can't say for sure, given that the current resolution is atrocious and whatever AA solution they're using seems not to understand subpixels.

TressFX and Hairworks are different. The former is shader based and the latter is Geometry/Tesselation based. Both solutions have integrated LOD systems and AA (MSAA in the case of Hairworks, don't know what TressFx uses).

Pretty sure it's their AA solution. It can look decent as long as everything is still, but once there is movement the AA completely breaks and we end up with dithering and jaggies. Example using Carbuncle's fur.

It did not suffice that yesterday's show harpooned those hopes?

There is no confirmation.

Well seeing that they used a PC only gamepad for the demo during yesterdays show it's pretty safe to say it was the PC version they supposedly aren't working on :)
