Uh, did we play the same game? Saints Row 3 on PS3 ran like shit as soon as you got in a car/plane. GTA IV was pretty bad, but TBoGT on PS3 felt like it ran (and looked) a good amount better. Hoping R* have learned a few more tricks since then to make the PS3 tick!
I like it, though for some reason I think they're going to go with something older.
Even though it's set in present day, I get a real hazy, early 70's California vibe for some reason. Just based on the screenshots with the lighting style I guess and the first confirmed song being Radar Love :lol
Could have been. Though I think they were hoping to hit a bigger audience. Especially with the multiplayer. Seems like they put a lot of effort into that.

That GTAIV to GTAV comparison thread someone made was incredible, shows how an improved lighting system means so much to this game. I hope it gets brought up every time people say V looks just like IV.

I'll be seeing Argo when the trailer hits. Looking forward to seeing it when I get back and catching up on all the GAF reactions. 
I hope they have a good 70's funk/soul station. Something like this I think would feel right at home in a game like this set on the West coast.

i don't know if this was brought up, but i was wondering...what if, when in the the open world off-mission, you take one of the protagonists and track down one of the others and kill them?? will this be possible? i'm sure people will attempt it, so i hope R* adds something extra in there for those who try.

-Michael is the character that has already gone through a GTA story, rising in crime to the top, then getting out clean.
-Trevor is a representation of how psychotic the players like to be in these games, just making chaos and dicking around.
-And Franklin represents the status quo of GTA characters, the one we start out with every GTA game, trying to rise to the top in the crime/game world. A younger Michael basically.
I think this makes them all equally interesting.
This also makes Franklin the less original, though in the context of the three characters formula, it's interesting.
I don't think so. He is a different character, different background and young; his story is yet to be told. The other guys have been in it and got out, although Trevor never wanted out.
Thanks for that and he is right in developing for this gen of consoles.

Seems pretty reasonable to me. I agree with him on most of the best games come near the end of the consoles life (for the most part).
I still would like to see an HD remake on my 720 though (OMG port begging!)

We've never played as a character like Michael or Trevor before.
Franklin sounds similar to CJ in the sense he's a gangbanger from South LA.
He's also young so probably naive, so it's not too much of a stretch to say he's like Claude in that regard.
I don't see how any of that is new or interesting.

It's really hard for me to make judgment calls on characters based on the information at hand. Personally, I'm extremely interested because R* knows how to tell a great story and no matter how overused a certain stereotype may be they usually take it to a different level that is usually enjoyable.
I mean, even Mafia didn't do the Mafia justice like GTA III did. Even CJ and his crew were about as generic as could be but I loved the story. R* has a way to take the mundane and make it interesting. I'd say I've really enjoyed the story for every character, Nico being my least favorite character but still an enjoyable story. So just going by a track record I have faith.

One feature in IV that I found out not too long ago, is you can roll over bodies by walking close to them to kick them over. I do this while aiming at them, so I can end them if they're alive and in pain. Maybe it'll be a Trevor only feature this time. Hahahahahahahahaha.

didn't we see golf already in the first trailer? and i remember seeing a shot of a tennis court as well.
i'm hoping they show some of the underwater stuff, just so i'll know it will look amazing when diving and looking for caves or rare sea creatures or whatever.
