As title says, following is the PR:

New GTR game in development from SimBin
– Time to “Get Real” again.

SimBin are proud to announce that a new GTR game is in the pipeline; the wait is over and development on the next installment of our multiple awards winning GTR series has begun. The title will take gamers back to the roots of SimBin style racing games, while offering a brand new take on the basic concept of “easy to drive, hard to master”, the hallmark of SimBin titles for the past decade.

SimBin will take a significant step up in both realism, visuals, and sheer immersion, offering players a completely new and unique experience based on the known and award winning simulation philosophy of SimBin.

SimBin will focus on continued support for the game through multiple new innovative online features and activities, in addition to a very comprehensive DLC plan.

The title is scheduled for release 2011, publisher TBA

I hope a version of this comes to consoles, but I am not optimistic because I don't think Race Pro sold well. It's a shame because it's my favorite racing game so far this generation. I don't care for collecting and upgrading cars, and the driving/physics model in the game just felt awesome. I'd like to get this on PC, but I'd want to have a nice driving setup, which I do not.

they got too excited about shooting down gran turismo it seems, forgot to crank up the settings

well they're comparing themselves to console games and not pc games on that screen, so that seems to suggest yes this is definitely coming to consoles. might even be consoles first

It's a bit surprising in how they choose to announce this game. No racing screen shots, no car shots, nothing really not even a teaser vid. If its coming next year they must have something to show, or are they just saving the whole reveal for E3.

I just dont understand how that can be remotely possible. The simulation was horrid, graphics and sound are some of the worst I have experienced this generation. HUGE step back from GTR2.

I think its just Simbin saying their game is better than the competition(which it will likely be)

They use console games to compare them though and not LFS, rFactor, or other PC sims which would have been a better comparispn/joke.

implying that their franchise is "first place" or the best franchise

and that forza, need for speed, and gran turismo are not as "good."

Also if you didn't pick up on it, the country flags represent the home country of the developers of the game.

Seeing they posted PC screenshots of that "Lizard" engine few years back, they better be using it this time

Curious what other (GT) classes, but the newly formed FIA GT1, will be included.
