New Infamous SS Gameplay footage

Looks pretty impressive visually, but I wasn't feeling the gameplay much till the bigger, more challenging enemy entered the fray though. Every game has fodders, but the fun factor in this is going to depend on how well they mix it up with the various enemy types, and what kind of firepower they're packing. I'll definitely be upping the difficulty immediately on some of the games I'm looking forward to, and see what kind of challenge that gives me. I don't expect it to make the game super hard, but something a bit more challenging will go quite a ways.

Looks kind of repetitive, as the previous Infamous games, however i think it *looks* very good, the city especially finally feels like a real place.

Also, fantastic soundtrack, as expected from Infamous.

Eh, that could be down to the player. Someone with a better grasp of the game could have played that scenario and made it look 10x more exciting by doing more than run up and shotgun blast someone. Also there will be multiple powers to switch between as well, and that should allow for quite a bit of variety.

All you need is access to their media servers, which many sites have to get assets from. This was probably on there for previews since they're releasing media tonight when they announce the release date.

Now that I think about it, the number one complaint I recall about Infamous 2 was the very poor sound effects or just a lack of sound effects.

Pros:
-Runs silky smooth
-Beautiful graphics, especially for an open-world game
-Delsin moves much better than Cole
-Not having to zoom to shoot anymore for a faster pace
-Touchpad stuff doesn't seem too bad

Cons:
-Same horrible AI from the originals
-Delsin's dialog could get really old, really fast

As a game, this still looks leaps and bounds better than the PS4 launch titles.

We have seen gameply previously and everyone was impressed. So what is the difference I wonder between this clip and the previous? ...the player.

The person playing makes it look broing due to a complete lack of variation while playing. It also looks very early on the game. So it would be introducing you to mechanics.

Still, I thought it looked impressive. It is an inFamous game.

Looks pretty but I hope there are more combat options than what we've seen. Also using the touchpad to lift that glowy thing seemed unnecessary.

Infamous isn't a series that is mindblowing early on. You keep gaining new powers and abilities through whole game. It's last 1/4 of the game where you're superhuman badass wrecking everything.

Start of the games is always like this - pew, pew, smack, run away.

Hope we'll get it's rival - Prototype 3 too.

Time of day isn't doing the game many favors. It looks a hell of a lot better without the fog.

It's Seattle mang. Days without cloudy skies are the abnormality. Especially since he seems to be dressed more in Winter clothes, so the sunny days are even more infrequent during that time.

Hmm, kinda wish I didn't watch that. Maybe I didn't realize what kind of game this was trying to be, but I don't like the "shooter" mechanics at all.

That's infamous though. It's an open world third person shooter wrapped in a super hero skin. You get shooter staples like pistol (default attack) machine gun (constant stream of energy), shotgun (large spread attack), grenade (balls of exploding energy) rocket launcher, sniper (focused, long range energy attack with slo-mo)

That's what i like about it personally. It's just a shame that footage doesn't really do much other then "pistol" and "shotgun", but as with any game. If you Play it boring then it ends up looking boring.

This.

There's still more powers to come.

I love the ground reflections though. The game looks very sharp.

I had to convince several people to stick with the first Infamous until they could glide and grind on wires and train tracks, after they got those powers they were sold.

Was thinking the same thing, and wondering how they could improve it.

Combat seemed very.. "one dimensional". Graphics were great though.

It's like, the first area of the game or so. Pre new powers and new power styles, played by someone who is new to the game. What can one possibly expect from something like this?

Well i'm commenting the video, not the game.
I played all of Infamous 1 and some of Infamous 2, so i know the game can get very interesting and hectic once you have all your powers and they throw more varied foes at you, but it also has moments of bullet sponge enemies, where you just run around shooting.

i must be blind or something but this doesn't look impressive or next-gen at all to me :(

the character models, animations, trees, cars, overall world geometry and detail etc... all look bland and last-gen to me. i hope it's just the quality of the youtube video, but ehh..

destructability and some of those particle effects are nice though i guess, but don't make up for what the visuals lack in other areas IMO. not even close.

They sure picked a drab, colorless area to show gameplay. Combat looks repetitious, easy and monotonous. I dont dig how you just get a picture of your ally talking to you in the upper corner either. It should be a video feed or something that gives the character some life. Was there even any music playing? I feel the only thing that kinda was impressed by was the way you scale buildings (or rather, lack thereof) and your flight/glide animation. Every else seems so fucking "meh" now.

Goddamn, what was my reason to pick up a PS4 in a couple months is now another reason to hold off.

That was definitely the least impressive footage of SS so far. Both visually and gameplay wise it didn't do anything for me

The combat has never been good or diverse in the Infamous games. Guys stand around to get blasted repeatedly by your standard 3rd person shooting power and the only (annoying) change is late in the game you're swarmed with baddies to repetitively shoot over and over again. I was hoping this would change with this game but it seems like they're trying to stick to the relatively poor formula of the other 2 too closely.

I love the traversal but it looks like the person playing wasn't showing off how you could mix up the powers very well. It's hard to tell how exciting the game is because of the player.

I kinda wish the game let you autoaim with stuff like your standard shooty thing. Than they could be more mobile and take cover, forcing you to use the traversal. GTA5 did that pretty well.

Looks amazing and I'm so pumped for this game.

But am I the only one getting slightly concerned that we've literally only seen this small area of the game?
