BTW this is a rip off. To say the free ride is over, is to be a cocksucker. There dozens and dozens of PC games with hours to be had with gameplay, and you can DL thousands of maps and mods...FOR FREE. To get all butt hurt about people complaining, to say "The free ride is over" is just plain fanboyish ignorance. People have a right to be angry.

Truelize, I definitely agree with you that Prisoner is greatly missed. I think it would be great with the Halo 2 gameplay elements. It would also be nice just to have a vertical level to spice things up a bit.
Why do people still yearn for bots? I don't know how to put this nicely ... bots are fucking worthless. You will not get any better at a game by playing bots. If you want to improve at an FPS challenging real people is the only way to go.
My guess is that the people bitching about having to pay for downloadable content suck at Halo 2. There needs to be a rule that you have to beat Ramirez in Slayer in order to whine about Halo 2. That would shut up a lot of people. Jesus ass some GAF kids are ridiculous ...

I'm really looking forward to Containment. Frankie mentioned on HBO's forums that the large fusion cores scattered around are way more destructive than the ones on other maps. Plus, it will add some much needed variety to the Big Team Battle playlist.

i kinda hate bungie at the moment for taking so long to patch the game...but those maps look sweet as hell......cant wait till they are released.

First game yes, second game hells no. Nutter was playing like an animal, and i was the only one with a positive ratio. Plus i was burnt out from playing all night
The one I would like to play the most is containment because of the snow (although I was hoping for more snow than that.) Will it be snowing as the game goes on? If so that's an automatic winner.
Turf looks cool if you're allowed to go up on those levels.
Warlock looks like crap. I don't like the colors or tiles.
I hope containment and Turf get released for free first.

The lack of Hang 'em High and the hint that it will never be ported hurts my heart a great deal, Sidewinder as well, sure we get another longish snow map but it's not the same. Look at Beaver Creek.. that's pretty much spot on Battle Creek. I'm not sure how I'll feel if it turns out the ported Longest, it'll probably just make me wish they ported Damnation instead.
A Prisoner type map would be interesting, though I seem to remember that most of the Prisoner rounds back in college turned into boxing matches with the plasma pistol at the bottom of the level while the rockets respawned.
I'm on the fence about paying for new maps. I think I'll go for the $19.99 disc, I'll be a little late off of the block but I don't anticipate it'll hurt too badly in terms of performance. Though I'll likely spend some time just roaming around the new maps on my own to start with.
The Grenade and Melee combat tweaks make me anxious. I haven't had too much of a problem with either so far. Sure every so often you're surprised that a lucky grenade seemed to kill you despite your distance. Or you were pretty sure you shot the guy enough to hit him once and kill him. But there are other aspects of the game that I would have addressed before those.. but then again apparently they're addressing those as well.
I hope they do fix the stuff like Stand By cheating. I haven't encountered too much cheating but when it happens it sort of sticks with you for awhile.

I accepted a party invite from three other guys after a rockin' session of Neutral Assault on Foundation. The next game was CTF on Zanzibar. Two of the other team dropped off, and it was four on two. We were playing them straight on, the other two putting up the best fight they could. I got inside their base, cloaked, and guarded the flag. The others were supposed to come up behind and grab it. After a few moments, the flag just disappeared, and reappeared on the beach. I think this is the 'standby' cheat - is it?
I left their party, removed them from my Friend's list and left the "Cheating" feedback for all of them.
The other game was later in the day on Coagulation, classic CTF. Three guys were talking about "dummying", took off in a warthog. I held back on defense, and suddenly we scored the winning point, without anyone returning in the Hog (or on foot, it seems). It was a great game right up until then. The other team was understandably pissed off - I left "cheating" feedback on the guy as well (and so did all of the other team, from the sounds of it).
Questions: How do the standby and dummy cheats work? What's going on? I know Bungie says both will go away in a few weeks, so I'm hopeful this will be a short-term issue - for me at least.

Standby cheat= pushing the suspend/standby button on someone's cable modem, which lets them keep playing, while everyone else goes to the blue screen.
Dummying= I don't know how its done, but it just makes the flag disappear and reappear somewhere else.
They're cxonsidered cheating while throwing a flag through a wall is not, because a) anyone can throw a flag; b) those things disrupt the information flow to the XBL servers, and that's against the TOS I believe.
