Sure, if you prefer concrete over soil.
I lived in a suburb, so I have no idea what you're talking about. The back of my house was completely surrounded by woods.

Was that what made North Jersey great to you?
You've got to look at it this way.

North Jersey for me was a nice suburb in the mountains.

South Jersey for me is in Pennsauken, just outside of Camden.

Surely you can draw the proper conclusions from this data!

I'm just happy we don't have to pump our own gas. I think all us New Jerseyans can come together on that. In fact, our new motto should be "Enjoy pumping your own gas suckers".

Oh boy...ya I see now. South Jersey is still > North Jersey for everyone else though ;)

Aren't we the only state left that still has people do that for us? I must admit, I do enjoy not getting out of my car when it's 20 degrees outside.

*highfive*

I think New Hampshire might but fuck them.

What's funny is that I commute to PA for my job, and every now and then I'm forced to fill up on that side of the world.

I kid you not, I once sat in front of a pump for 3+ minutes thinking to myself, What the fuck is going on... Only to realize of course that everyone was pumping their own gas.

Ocean County here. Toms River (well, right on the edge of it in Manchester)

i wish we had FIOS. screw you verizon! monmouth county has it!

One time i was way out west and I thought I was in PA but I was still in Jersey, I got outta the car and the second I touched the gas pump I got yelled at from the Gas guy "This is Jerzey!!"

New Jersey, We Don't Pump Gas We Pump Fists

Yeah, I was in PA last year going to get gas, and waiting for like 2 minutes in my car. I was like what the fuck is taking this guy to pump my gas, and I realized I saw other people outside. Then thats when it hit me. :lol It wasn't easy at first either I saw some people simling at me it was embrassing :(

My step lives in NYC, and she drives out to NJ just so she doesn't have to pump gas.

Ever see a libertarian argue about that? Like its taking away freedoms?

Some people.

Fuck that. Pump my gas or give me death. It really is great, especially because its way cheaper and its FULL service. *fist pump*

you know it's exactly the opposite for me. i'm one of the city boys and so that makes south Jersey suburb land and stoners on the shore, plus the political bigheads in Trenton. i'd like to think there's a greater intelligence up in the Hudson County area, because we don't think we're too good for concrete or rubbing elbows with our neighbors, in fact, i think we're better for it.

I agree. And I drive through NYC a lot. 7 out of 10 times someone does something retarded in front of me, they have NJ plates.
amen

wtf? it's cheaper to just go to a full service station in NY

Yet we seem to have more success this past decade.

You're proving my point. They've won 3 cups in 13 years and STILL no one cares about them. If that was the Rangers there would be a statue of Brodeur in front of MSG right now with people genuflecting to it. I know there are passionate Devils fans out there but not nearly enough to justify a franchise. IMO.

I guess each half of the state resents the other half for making them look bad.

Like we South Jerseyans resent the fact that everyone thinks the entire state has the ridiculous North Jersey accent and are a bunch of rude jerkoffs and gangsters a la The Sopranos.

Likewise, North Jerseyans probably think South Jersey's full of country bumpkins and too many pine trees.

I grew up in Atlantic County but now I'm in Burlington. Too many people here. And no beaches. :(

Another thread where jersey gets shit on...Not surprising.

South Jers>North

And theres no such thing as central jersey, get that shit outta here. Pennsylvania takes the cake for shittiest drivers I've seen.

And Burlington...Trash. Especially the girls, ugh.

Hudson County is the best county in Jersey. Hands down. We've got the best looking women, most diverse population, a booming financial center in Jersey City, Eli Manning, and everyone wakes up with the best view of Manhattan you can get.

Pennsylvanians are a different type of bad driver... the "holy shit you drive like a retard" kind, unlike Jersey which is more of a "willing to kill you and everyone you care about in order to get there first" kind of feel to them.

BTW New Yorkers drive like the latter also, but far less egregiously.

Shut the fuck up. Central Jersey fuckin' exists you elitist South Jersey pricks. Monmouth County ftw.

(I go to a South Jersey school, so all I hear is that there is no "Central Jersey" from Glassboro inbreds)

Oh shit what town are you from? I'm from West New York.

Oregon, last I checked. BTW, their state motto should be "Beautiful Land, Ugly People".

Glassboro inbreds eh? Mind saying what school you go to? Theres only one college in Glassboro and I go there.

im assuming rowan? my little brother got accepted there but is going to community college instead, the idiot

PS. rutgers>rowan

I won't dispute Rutgers>Rowan besides the shitty traveling between classes for Rutgers. I couldn't stand a major university.

I'm moving back to Northern NJ...if my recruiter ever gets to nailing down a confirmed start date. The drivers are horrible and for the love of god don't drink the tap water, but I like the suburbs. Having spent 5 years in rural Pennsylvania, I can tell you most people in NJ "dying to get out" don't know how good they have it.

:lol :lol

Being from Jersey is so bad even jerseyites argue about which part is worst. I think I heard that "Jersey is the Armpit of America."

sorryaboutdresden said:
Rutgers Camden actually isn't that bad.

Yeah, I graduated from there. The campus itself isn't bad. Just don't go a few blocks north, south or east. The waterfront area is nice though.

Also I'm from Marlton, but moved to the rural countryside of Southampton once Marlton got too crowded.

Monmouth County FTW. I'm 10 minutes from the beach and 40 minutes from the city (thats NYC not Philly). Can't get that anywhere else. I love being able to get up in the summer and either head to Sandy Hook or Belmar to chill on the beach or go into the city for the restaurants and the nightlife, sometimes in the same day. Screw the haters, Jersey is the most misunderstood state in the country. Its so small but you won't find a more diverse state, and there's a reason it costs so much to live here. Plus, as mentioned we don't pump our own gas.

JC for life, or the rest of it anyway. i've lived in the NYC metropolitan area for more than half my life, but i've picked up a bit of the Jersey boy, with a distinct New Englander flair :D

anyway, i'm up in MN for school. i do like the winters up here better...

South Jersey >>> North Jersey as long as were on the topic of New Jersey.

what does south jersey have exactly, it's sad already that you guys have to drive up here to buy you stuff.

Trenton i guess, and the shore, not that i would ever go, but yeah, South Jersey is pretty much North Jersey's playground...

Everyone knows a real New Jersey resident doesn't consider Camden as part of the state. :lol

and it's "Great Adventure", damnit!

Fixed for truth.

Pffft Camden isn't bad at all. I surveyed (land surveyor) in Camden all last summer. Sure you don't want to get lost walking, or lost driving at night, but it's really not that bad except for certain areas.

And North Jersey just wishes it was New York. South Jersey appreciates being so close to two major cities, but has its own identity.

Wasn't I playing XBLA Uno with you and Marie from West NY and some other dude a few weeks ago?

Sorry my Rangers just murdered your Devils but... um... well, no, I'm not sorry at all. :lol :D

And to add to the discussion I've lived and worked all over the state. Lived in Freehold, Jersey City twice, Hoboken, Old Bridge and now I'm back in Freehold again. I like Monmouth County.

I've worked in South Jersey before and... jesus. Ya'll got some hillbillies down there. Not in Atlantic City of course, but once you get 20 minutes outside of it... oof. It's like King of the Hill.

No shit, eh? Not to mention the kids who think they're inner-city thugs. Made for an interesting four years of high school.
