I bet that damn mexican doesn't even have proper papers to be in Pop Star. better get his ass booted outta my country before I get to him. and I better not find one of them anchor babies!
Really?

Still worried about the pace being too slow :/. On the other hand, this trailer is even cuter than the first one, and the music is a heartwarming remix of my favourite theme.

I think it was already said back with the E3 impressions that the game's pretty fast

Looks amazing. Is this two players? My girlfriend and I had a blast playing NSMB Wii, and this could be a lot of fun with two people.

Hopefully they're the ones behind the music, as I've said before, HAL's got some AMAZING composers! :D So far it sounds like them.

I reckon that you might be right here. Hal's copywrite is featured in the trailer along with Goodfeel and Nintendo.

Could be another Amazing Mirror type situation where Flagship were the primary developer and Hal assisted (along with Sakurai as an advisor and strangely enough, a few Dimps programmers helped too. Strange project team!) and that turned out to be my second favourite game in the series! (right behind Superstar)

I was being lazy but I googled and found this:
A second player can play as a character named Prince Fluff, and the two players can stand on or throw each other in order to reach otherwise inaccessible areas.

Nice!!

Right I'm sure Nintendo's gonna abandon their philosophy of designing games that are accessible for new players but still feature challenging extra content for seasoned gamers and make a game that only appeals to teh kiddiez and grandmaz, because you said so.
Hey now.

I didn't say anything about grandmas.

Really? Not that I don't trust your word, but it sure doesn't look fast going by the two trailers.

Yeah it looks slow, which is why the impressions mentioned it in the first place. It's possible that I remember wrong though... I'll try and dig up something later.

It's so nice to see someone else acknowledging Hirokazu Ando and Jun Ishikawa's efforts. They are among the greatest composers around (along with Yoshito Hirano from Intelligent Systems).

At no point during my E3 playtime did I think "this is slow." I did think "oh god I want this game," and "my daughter is going to flip when we buy this."

(that's not to say my standards are at all the same as yours, but hey)

I'm honestly not crazy about Kirby's lower-gen music, from the classic consoles and I think they still use them on the DS today.

N64 stuff is fuck awesome.

But their orchestrated work on the GC is ORGASMIC, Air Ride's stuff is out-fucking-standing, tragic that HAL's been out of the console loop since Kirby Adventure got canned. :(

You better be using them in Epic Yarn Nintendo!

The only time any element of any Kirby game has ever provided any kind of challenge to me, even for a second, are Kirby's Canvas Curse (which isn't exactly mainline Kirby) and the post-game content in Kirby Super Star; the boss guantlet, for example.

I've played KDL, KDL2, KA, KDL3, KSS, KSSD, both GBA games, all three DS games--so I'm missing K64.

Nintendo generally does strike the balance you're talking about, but Kirby aint's a series they've done it in historically.

Right, but Epic Yarn is far from a traditional Kirby game from what we've seen. I also remember reading a lengthy interview with Good Feel when Wario Land Shake came out where they explained how their entire philosophy was to design games which were accessible to newcomers and at the same time deep and challenging for seasoned players (which they nailed perfectly with WL:S), so there's no reason to think that they're going to change that philosophy with Kirby.

I hope you're right. I really want them to spend less time "innovating" games around the Wiimote, if Shake Dimension is anything to go by.

Yea sorry, I hated that game. Not an accolade that's supporting my anticipation for this game, that's for sure.
Same. I need this in my hands to squash my fears.

KDL3 and K64 are harder games of the seris.

Plus, if you want a boost in difficulty, play the games without ablities. Right now I am checking out Squeak Squad to make sure the game is beatable without using any ablities so I can broadcast me playing it. Also going to note which chests can be gotten without any ablities.

I always thought playing against bosses with an ability is kinda lame. It's instinct for me to forfeit my powerup at the start of a boss fight.

I mean forget difficulty, it's not even fun. The bosses are built around taking their shit and flinging it back at them.

I'm going to get this because:

1) Art + graphics
2) Good Feel

The last Kirby game I seriously played was on the SNES [I've tried the GBA/DS ones]...

There's easy (Kirby in general) and then there's too easy (Squeak Squad).

I for one hope this game goes the Zack and Wiki route and is too hard.

So how about not being an ass and releasing the game this year, NoE? :I

There was a time where we North Americans thought we wouldn't get Golden Sun this year, you might get Kirby if you are lucky enough.

Just when you thought a Kirby game couldn't get more cute and childish looking...

BUT the gameplay looks amazing. I will probably grab this day one.

.

This game's going to be incredibly easy, like all Kirby games, and then at the very end be absolutely brutally difficult for the final boss, like all Kirby games.

Sadly, it seems the boss in Squeak Squad were made in mind that the player would have extra abilities in reserve. So far I have only made it to the second boss in my no power run I was doing last night, and the second boss took a while to kill. It doesn't fling things at you very often, it tosses them at angles making it hard to eat and at a very fast speed, it does not generate stars when it slams into the ground and is stunned for a moment like most Kirby Bosses do, some of the items it does toss have you have to suck for a few second before you get it, bah, just so tedious. They paid great attention to detail with the sprites and sound effects, but the level design just sucks.

I feel like Squeak Squad was at one time designed to be one long game with you going from the end of one stage to the start of the next without going to an overworld, but they decided with the add on of tons of chests to screw that idea. I really like how after you beat Dedede you are tossed right into level 2-1

I can't think of a single Kirby game that had a difficult final boss.

Ever. They've all been stupidly easy.
