I think it was already said back with the E3 impressions that the game's pretty fastKilrogg said:Still worried about the pace being too slow :/. On the other hand, this trailer is even cuter than the first one, and the music is a heartwarming remix of my favourite theme.

Hopefully they're the ones behind the music, as I've said before, HAL's got some AMAZING composers! So far it sounds like them.
A second player can play as a character named Prince Fluff, and the two players can stand on or throw each other in order to reach otherwise inaccessible areas.
Hey now.nincompoop said:Right I'm sure Nintendo's gonna abandon their philosophy of designing games that are accessible for new players but still feature challenging extra content for seasoned gamers and make a game that only appeals to teh kiddiez and grandmaz, because you said so.

Yeah it looks slow, which is why the impressions mentioned it in the first place. It's possible that I remember wrong though... I'll try and dig up something later.Kilrogg said:Really? Not that I don't trust your word, but it sure doesn't look fast going by the two trailers.

Right, but Epic Yarn is far from a traditional Kirby game from what we've seen. I also remember reading a lengthy interview with Good Feel when Wario Land Shake came out where they explained how their entire philosophy was to design games which were accessible to newcomers and at the same time deep and challenging for seasoned players (which they nailed perfectly with WL:S), so there's no reason to think that they're going to change that philosophy with Kirby.Stumpokapow said:The only time any element of any Kirby game has ever provided any kind of challenge to me, even for a second, are Kirby's Canvas Curse (which isn't exactly mainline Kirby) and the post-game content in Kirby Super Star; the boss guantlet, for example.
I've played KDL, KDL2, KA, KDL3, KSS, KSSD, both GBA games, all three DS games--so I'm missing K64.
Nintendo generally does strike the balance you're talking about, but Kirby aint's a series they've done it in historically.

Same. I need this in my hands to squash my fears.robor said:Yea sorry, I hated that game. Not an accolade that's supporting my anticipation for this game, that's for sure.

I always thought playing against bosses with an ability is kinda lame. It's instinct for me to forfeit my powerup at the start of a boss fight.Drkirby said:Same. I need this in my hands to squash my fears.

Plus, if you want a boost in difficulty, play the games without ablities. Right now I am checking out Squeak Squad to make sure the game is beatable without using any ablities so I can broadcast me playing it. Also going to note which chests can be gotten without any ablities.

BTW, I don't suppose NOJ has released the Japanese box cover yet?
slaughterking said:So how about not being an ass and releasing the game this year, NoE? :I
Sadly, it seems the boss in Squeak Squad were made in mind that the player would have extra abilities in reserve. So far I have only made it to the second boss in my no power run I was doing last night, and the second boss took a while to kill. It doesn't fling things at you very often, it tosses them at angles making it hard to eat and at a very fast speed, it does not generate stars when it slams into the ground and is stunned for a moment like most Kirby Bosses do, some of the items it does toss have you have to suck for a few second before you get it, bah, just so tedious. They paid great attention to detail with the sprites and sound effects, but the level design just sucks.upandaway said:I always thought playing against bosses with an ability is kinda lame. I mean forget difficulty, it's not even fun. The bosses are built around taking their shit and flinging it back at them.
AniHawk said:This game's going to be incredibly easy, like all Kirby games, and then at the very end be absolutely brutally difficult for the final boss, like all Kirby games.
jeremy1456 said:I can't think of a single Kirby game that had a difficult final boss.
Ever. They've all been stupidly easy.
