I have never learned how to play a KOF game ever... like on a competitive or at least knowledgeable level...

I jus got KOF XI in the mail like... today! from goozex!!

I really lookin forward to this game tho!!

I suggest you actually see the real game or even play it before judging. It really looks good and plays like a true 2D fighter.

The traditional 2D sprites definitely still have its ground, but it's hard to make sprite-based animations as smooth as the 3D ones in SF4, especially in HD.

KOF XI is awesome awesome awesome, but I would get KOF '98 Ultimate Match over it.

Under Benimaru is Ralf (in his red bandana). Ralf looks really odd in the Famitsu page shot.

Game looks amazing though. I hope they will unveil a new team or a new characters not just returning classics.

Looks great. The animation is better than I was expecting although whether or not it'll feel right while playing is another matter.

Anyway, KOFXII for sexy 2D and SF4 for awesome 3D, so much awesome and sexy in such a short amount of time.

Worth noticing is that Ryo has his Art Of Fighting, KOF94, KOF95 stance back! Fuck, fuck yes! I hated that stupid "tiger" or something stance since kof96.

Robert doesn't look like NGBC, KOFXI Robert. That's good. He looks fucking ackward there.

It's a design that looks closer to the original Athena design from Psycho Soldier.

KOF '94 was not just "Art of Fighting versus Fatal Fury" like a lot of people tend to think. Psycho Soldier and The Ikari Warriors were also represented.

And then there is also the other Athena...

Btw. What was the story in one tournament when Kensou lost his power and couldn't do "magic" moves? Like when you did qcb+P a fireball didn't come out. LOL. Then he got the powr back. Can't remember for the fuck of me what happened there. I love those unexpecting character story twists that involve gameplay changes in kof games.

Riiiiight, because all of the footage of the game currently available doesn't properly convey the visual aspect of the game. :/

2D fighters still have their place, just not at Capcom anymore IMO.
