You have a very weird idea of good anime. That said, after watching the translation Macross Frontier is something that I long to watch.

macross F is WAY better than that piece-of-shit Gurren Lagann or anything that Gaynax can ever hope to do. 2007 was a shitty year for anime, and the first ep of Macross F blows the whole goddamned year out of the water, and then shits on it.

And that is related to Mononoke... how? By the looks of it, only me and Jason watched that show. A damn shame, really.

Amazing first episode, and I love that they used "Do You Remember Love" as the ed song. Man I feel like I've found an old friend that I lost a long time ago. It's good to have Macross back.

I do have a problem though. Would it kill them to go back to a Isamu type lead character. He's a cocky bastard that takes no shit from people. Instead we're stuck with a bishounen, something I was hoping would never happen. I'm upset with the decision but it won't ruin the show for me. But lets just say I wouldn't complain if he got a haircut.

If I remember correctly, they disappeared near the center of the galaxy right? I know it was years ago so they're probably dead but i't'd be cool if they found the Megaroad...

Kawamori has said before that he is done with the original characters and their story, but who knows. Personally I hope he leaves it that way.

first episode is out from shinsei, i just found out this anime today, the promo vid at youtube is so rocking, looks like OVA quality, although i'm a lil bit disappointed with the character designs... they are.. too pretty.. i wished they would go with the zero or plus style

the CG is so much better than I expected it to be, only problem I really have is with explosions (they seem like foam bubbles).

a character that resembles sharon apple/myung, she's called the galaxy's fairy, at her concert she shouts out "Listen to my song!!" which is a homage to Basara from M7, but her songs suck big time, too pop for me

main character is a lil bit similar to Isamu (M+) due to his obsession with flying

at the begining we can see the teenagers using their hands to simulate flying a fighter, homage to Isamu from M+, it has the same exact motion

the spiky shoes the teenagers wearing are similar or might be taken from the manga Macross7:Trash

a character that resembles Lin min may, she even works at a Chinese restaurant

a glass character that resembles a bit of Max due to his cocky attitude

Ghost unmanned fighters makes an appearance

The team leader of VF-25 squad = Roy Fokker, guess what was his call sign?

ending theme was the original macross: do you remember love song

the new VF-25 in battleroid form has the Aquarion Luna's head

final scene is like any other robot anime cliche and mirrors Original Macross/Macross Zero's episode 1

unknown enemies gave me a aerogator bugs vibe (which is from SRW:OG)

Finally watched it. I'm still not sold on the CGI. :/ Reagardless, I liked it and look forward to the rest of the series. Now I play the waiting game.

Right now there isn't anything particularly interesting, I'd say Ghost Hound's the only show worth watching this season, but then again I'm not watching Kaiji, which a lot of people seem to like. If you haven't yet, I'd recommend watching Gurren Lagann, Dennou Coil, Seirei no Moribito or Baccano, which for me were the best this year.

I found the first ep to be very meh. The cgi mecha and enemy are just jarring to watch. More generic moe loli. I also dont really care for the uber cute/pretty designs of the characters. The new valkyrie design isnice though.

Nothing touches Macross + for me.

So I guess I'm the only one who thought this was very average?
I don't like the characters, the directing of everything outside the action scenes is really average, and the animation is all over the place.
Music is great as expected, and the action scenes got the job done, but I didn't like the rest at all.

lol i thought the same exact thing, but i doubt they will return in any way. The only reason you saw old macross characters like max & milla return in macross 7 was because they lacked development in the original series. While hikaru \ hayese storys were pretty much finished in the original series. (it was thier story afterall).

And from what i remember minmei was on that same ship too...

I'm serious....I own over 1000 dvd and would give ALL of them up to own this concert on dvd!!! Not only was YK there, but Tomo Sakurai, Akino Arai and Hiroko Kasahara(who NEVER makes public appearances) were also on stage performing....ALL of whom were absent from the 25th Anniv concert!!!

I asked Egan Loo a few years back if the 15th Anniv. concert was filmed and he said YES! So I don't understand why Bandai/Big West or whoever won't just release it on dvd already. They released YK's Turn A Gundam concert on dvd for Christ's sake!!!

I cannot stress enough how badly I want this on dvd....I would sell my soul and/or give up both my PS3 and 360 for it. I'm still bummed I wasn't able to go
