Holy Sh*t :O

The latest trailer on Gametrailers is still showing some framerate stuttering. That's more important than these ultra-detailed aliens, which do look great btw. :D

OMG O.O
WHERE IS YOUR NEXT-GEN CONSOLES NOW?!!1

huh? "Don't make me get GT5: Prologue upside your head" LOL

kidding, these are good shots, i am definitely buying this game before the end of the year.

They really need to stop adding post processing effects in photoshop. The sharpening they do makes it look awful. Also the compression is massive on those jpg's, so thats also playing a huge role in making the game look bad.

Agh, the jpg compression!

Even with compression it still looks hot. Where is that blue hermaphrodite alien? She was pretty hot. I think most modern games lack attractive hermaphrodites.

What killed my interest a little in the trailer was the water effects, since they were pretty much invisible...they were just not there. For a game with unbelievably great visuals as this one, why they didn't bother to add proper water effects will remain an enigma for years to come. I just want the vehicle making a proper splash when it touches water, and the wheels moving water while...um, moving.

What Games Radar did to these screenshots can legally be considered murder in certain states.

Looks good despite the awful compression.

Alien in the fourth screen looks like he has a fixed smirk - like there's an anatomical lock on it. Hence, perhaps, the need for a gun.

"What you smilin' at, boy ?" etc... It's badass expressive, whatever the case.

I prefer to think he is a classy dude with a "pip pip" look to his face, all wearing that expensive future monocle.

damn.... gamesradar raped those pics compression wise.
still, mass effect looks so good, day one purchase.

The faces in Mass Effect are the best looking I've seen this gen without a doubt.

And yes I've downloaded and watched the PSN Killzone 2 trailer kthx

yeah, the character modelling is by far the greatest strength of the games graphics

Heavenly sword says why hello thar

but mass effect certainly is shaping up to be something great

Even though they have been heavily compressed they still look great, amazing. Bring this to PC Bioware or I will not be amused... :D

Are you guys sure these screens are incredible? I thought the 2006 shots were much better. What's up with the guy's arm?

I see what you did there.

eh, I think the backgrounds look good, but do sacrifice some detail for scale...The modell ingame is probably the best Ive seen, the backgrounds are good, great artistically.

Anyway, Im interested to see what more of the worlds are going to look like

Heavenly Sword? Yes, the best facial animation I've even witnessed, but outside of the pre-recorded cut-scenes the faces don't look anywhere near as good as this. Anyway, back to Mass Effect. It's the eyes, the stubble, the modelling the beards, hair, etc. And it's all customisable. Very impressive.

Yep we need to see more of the environments. In particular some of those that were shown in screenshots at the end of the X06 trailer. That one with the water and the jungle type environment under the bridge looked fantastic. And so many worlds to visit, uncharted worlds too. The mix of action and RPG is what is really gripping me though. A game to really look forward to.

I'm not sure if they were going for freckles or short hairs. Either way it's not particularly impressive in comparison to the hand, facial hair and eyes.

I was going to make a joke about them reusing the planet texture (see dessert shot) for his arm. However they didn't quite match up.

Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to the game -- but this shot reminds me of the Thunderbirds TV show, very wooden.

hang on there... as much as I like my games to have plenty of fancy aliens and looking all sci-fi....

why are them aliens using the same weapons as us humans?! i mean... check out the Calamari-clone's digits!?! Its huge! Are they expected to fire the same guns that are suited for human digits? I'd expect the alien to have some trouble finding the trigger... Thats a stretch of belief.... oh wait....

And another Mass Effect thread goes down the pan.
Sorry, but the way they're staring blankly straight ahead, with no expression on their face and with their arms lifeless at their sides, reminds me of the Thunderbirds. Doesn't mean I think it will suck. Hopefully they're more animated in the actual game.

What do you expect from a still screenshot of the game?

Ugh forget it, as expected another Mass Effect thread turns to **** in under a page.
